I was peacefully walking into my local library, listening to my soft music that played in my ears. As I entered, I immediately felt a wave of comfort was over me. Libraries have always been a safe place for me, I always found peace here.
My feet moved on their own accord, walking up and down the many rows of amazing books. I loved to read murder mystery books, the thrill was enticing and it gave me a rush of adrenaline.
I began to scan the shelves, trying to find something that would possibly catch my eyes. I ended up picking up a book with a a white cover, leafless trees filled the front cover of the book alongside some flower petals scattered around. It was called "Then She Was Gone" by Lisa Jewell. It looked very interesting to me, but as soon as I lifted it from the shelf, I lost my grip on it, causing it to drop by my feet.
My eyes widened only slightly, reaching down, I felt someone else's hands touch the book, picking it up before me as I stood there in shock. The Jenna Ortega was handing me my book.
"You dropped this." She stated the obvious, but her voice was deep and raspy, it was soothing and it was almost like honey. "This..." She held up the book with a small smile on her face. "Is a great book. I highly recommend this." She stated and placed the book back in my hands.
I overcame my shock, remembering to act cool and casual, since she was still a normal human being. "You think so?" I tilted my head, smoothly leaning against the shelves.
Jenna chuckled, eyeing me for a moment, her lips slightly parted but she had a smile on her face. "Yes. I do. You should check it out, if you love murder mystery."
"I do, it's by far my favorite genre to read." I further added, pushing myself off the shelves as I glanced down at the book in my hands. I heard Jenna chuckle again, her laugh was like a music, a very sweet sound.
"Same here." She agreed, nodding her head and as soon as we made eye contact, it felt like time froze. I froze too, I couldn't move, and I didn't want to either. I couldn't tear my eyes from hers, they were so beautiful, I got so easily lost in them.
Soon enough Jenna smile a little wider, gently grabbing the book in my hand. "Let me pay for this." She stated, and I opened my mouth to protest but she cut me off. "My treat. I do have one thing you could do in return."
I nodded, pursing my lips in confusion as I watched her inhale softly.
"Go on a date with me." Jenna blurted out, the statement itself was almost impossible to believe. I wanted to faint, but I couldn't, and my long awaited response seemed to be getting to her.
"Yes..." I slowly whispered, my lips curling into a smile. "Absolutely." Jenna chuckled, sighing in relief as she gently took my hand.
"It's a date then." She proudly stated with a cute smile on her face as I giggled, letting her drag me away.
