" -happen, huh?! "

Carefully, she hid behind the wall and peeked to see what was happening.

" Do you think we are playing? Huh? "

One man was grabbing someone else by the hair, yelling at him.

The woman noted that they were all hybrids. One slight sound, and they would discover her. There were four in total. Two were watching the third one, hitting the other and cracking a smile.

It was too dark to see what the victim looked like, but she could tell he was severely hurt.

As she turned around to call the police, she mistakenly kicked something off, which made a sound. She closed her eyes and bit her lips, hoping this hadn't averted their attention. However, it did as she feared—the one holding the injured hybrid mentioned to the other to check what was happening.

" Hah! "

Suddenly, chuckles echoed in the alley.

Both the hybrids and Nari turned around. She carefully peeked behind the wall again and saw the injured hybrid laughing madly. This seemed to creep out the other three.

As the drops of rain landed on his skin, he closed his eyes and let out another chuckle, feeling the cool sensation on his face.

Abruptly, he defied, " What? You don't have any strength anymore? "

" What? "

" Well, admit it. Your punches so far have been so weak. I could barely feel the pain. " He smirked.

" This little- "

" Tsukasa, stop. " The one named Tsukasa turned around and glared. " He is going to die if you keep doing that. "

" He is right. " Said the other. " Master only said to beat him a bit, any more, and he will be good to die. "

Tsukasa scoffed before he released the injured hybrid. " Consider yourself lucky. " Then, he turned his eyes to where Nari was hiding. His eyes focused for a few seconds before he turned around.

" Let's go. "

The three left through the other end of the alley without looking back. Nari waited for a minute to make sure they were gone before she let out a relieved sigh. She didn't know how long she had been holding her breath, but it felt too long.

Then she came out from her hiding spot and walked toward that hybrid.

She stared at him, his head hung low while his hand held his stomach. She then crouched down without saying anything and carefully tapped his shoulder.

As he didn't respond, she called, " Excuse me, sir? Sir? Do you hear me? "

She then lowered her head and noticed he had his eyes closed. Instinctively, she reached her hand out, but with a quick hand movement, the hybrid grabbed her hand. Startling her, she inevitably let go of the umbrella in her other hand.

Slowly, he lifted his head and stared at her.

The sound of raindrops seemed like background noise as they stared at each other.

Her intense gaze studied his face as if it were a magnificent canvas. His face was so compelling that it could captivate anyone. While his oval almond-shaped eyes, the colour of dark coffee, and his long, flawless nose conveyed innocence, his rosy, full lips hinted at a darker secret.

His pale skin, which seemed to have been used to being bathed in the moon, was perfectly completed by his luscious raven-coloured hair, which shone beautifully under the moonlight.
