" The eternal difference between right and wrong does not fluctuate, it is immutable. "
― Patrick Henry
As Do Nari gazed at her reflection in the ornate mirror, she contemplated the best approach for delivering today's news. Meanwhile, the skilled makeup artist carefully applied layers of makeup, enhancing her natural features. Amidst this, she nicely asked her to relax her features since she could feel Nari tense up.
" Yes, sorry. "
" I thought you were used to his already? "
" I am. It depends on the news I am delivering, though. "
The makeup artist nodded and kept doing her job.
Do Nari then took out her phone and swiftly sent a message to her manager, asking him about the task she had asked him to do. He quickly replied with a yes.
She exhaled.
Someone knocked on the door and entered. " Ms Do Nari, we are ready. We will be live in ten minutes. "
The woman stared at the man through the mirror reflection and nodded.
" I'm also done. " Replied the makeup artist.
Nari gracefully rose from her seat, expressing her gratitude before gracefully gliding along with the staff toward the television set to deliver the evening's news. Along the way, she warmly greeted each member of the team, exchanging pleasant small talk before finally taking her place in her customary seat.
As her eyes locked with the camera lens, she caught a glimpse of her image on the screen at the edge of her vision. With a swift motion, she smoothed down her hair and cleared her throat.
A surge of adrenaline coursed through her veins as a staff member began counting down with his fingers. Suddenly, bright red lights focused on her, and instinctively, a poised and professional smile graced her face.
As the evening sun cast a warm glow on the set, Do Nari, the beloved anchorwoman, exuded confidence and charm. " Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I'm Do Nari, your usual pretty and smart anchorwoman," she said radiantly. Her words were met with a few smiles from the crew behind the camera as they prepared for the upcoming news segment.
" And together, we will take on a thrilling journey through the latest news and events from around the world in barely a few minutes, " she continued, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
" Make sure to stay with us until the very end because intriguing news is to be told, " she added, her eyes sparkling excitedly.
A few curious eyes glanced at each other, intrigued by her words. However, no one questioned her, as they were familiar with Do Nari's spontaneous script adjustments that always added an extra layer of interest to the news.
As the woman presented the news, she finally arrived at the final segment. As the crew staff prepared for her ending script, images were shown on the screen, and this time, the woman's expression turned more serious.
" Today, special news concerns Hybrids. Indeed, today, we had the privilege to meet a young and very adorable child Hybrid, whom we will name Ms. Nam to protect her identity. "
Chaos reigned behind the cameras as the staff wondered why no one had been informed about this segment.
" I kindly ask for our audience's discretion as some images may disturb some individuals. "
Images of body injuries appeared on the screen.
As Do Nari reminisces about her little interview with Sohyun, the young Hybrid, she makes a conscious effort to conceal her emotions from surfacing.
