One Last Promise [Wilbur x reader]

the doctor looked at my face examining the wounds that was around my mouth, the doctor took the tweezers and he carefully started to remove shards of glass around me mouth, I winced in pain and started to shift. "Please remain still," the doctor firmly instructed, I took a shaky breath as he removed another
piece.

I was fighting the urge to twitch, then I suddenly felt someone hold my hand, I glances by my eyes to not move my head and it was Wilbur, reassuring me, he squeezed my hand every time the doctor removed a piece of glass and it every time he did that, it made me feel butterflies in my stomach.

I saw some blood dripping off from the wounds around my mouth, the doctor finished and I felt sooooo relieved, I thought that Wilbur will leave my hand but he kept holding into it, I saw his thumb rubbing the back of my hands and I felt my cheek goes red, I hoped it was unnoticeable

the doctor took alcohol and splashed them on the wounds, making me tense, he then made sure to clean the delicate areas and took band aids and started putting it on the wounds, the doctor finished and started getting up, collecting his things.

Wilbur smiled when he saw that the doctor was done and I was now fine with no more glass in my face. He started guiding the doctor out of the house. The doctor left and Wilbur looked at me. "All good?" He asks, I can see the concern in his eyes. "Yeah, it feels so much better when you don't have glass in your face" I say, joking but he still seemed concerned, He walked to me, getting closer but not too close.

He placed his hand on her shoulder and looked serious, I got confused and looked at him "now tell me what happened" Wilbur said and I quickly became uncertain, I hesitated, not knowing whether I should speak or no "Y/n please there must be something" Wilbur said and I heard the pleading tone in his voice, I sigh and decided not to say the full truth.

I took a deep breath and started speaking "there was a drunk stranger who had a bottle of wine and hit me with it, making it break" I knew who it was, this is where I am lying, I knew it was Jared for sure "oh..." Wilbur looked a bit shocked and confused "you didn't go to the police?" I didn't, the police never did anything, I remember one time I told them about something...jared did and they didn't do anything because he was my "boyfriend"

I shook my head "I don't trust them" Wilbur blinks, he opened his mouth to say something but didn't, he then looked at me in the eyes "...just stay carful, okay? If anything like this happens again, come and tell me and I will handle it, trust me" I felt like...i can trust him, even though I met him yesterday, I nods and he removed his hand from my shoulder.

He moved it to his pocket and took out some money "here" he said and I was confused "what-?" I asked and he placed them in my hands "keep them, you will need them, I will give you money whenever you want until you find a job, okay?" Wilbur said and I blink "Wilbur, you don't have to, you already paid the doctor for treating me-" Wilbur shook his head "take it or we aren't friends anymore" I knew he would never but he said that to make me accept it.

I sigh and puts the money in my pocket "but I promise I won't take anymore money from you, I will just simply find a job" I said looking at him but Wilbur shook his head "I made you get fired, I am paying back" Wilbur said and I mumbles "thanks.."

Then my phone suddenly pings, I took it out and checked the message, it was from my mom.

Mom: Sweetheart, when are you coming home? There is a guest coming and I want you to meet him

I got confused, Guest? I text back.

You: I will be back in 10-15 minutes, Mom, see you later :)
___________________________________

I looked at Wilbur "I am sorry, but I need to go, my mother texted me telling me I should come back home" I said, feeling a bit bad for leaving, his expression went sad, I started walking but he quickly stopped me "WAIT!! before you go, can I get your number?" Wilbur said and he was smiling nervously, but the moment I nodded it he seemed so happy and proud.

He got out his phone and gave it to me, I started typing my number "here" he took the phone and smiled, he started guiding me to the door, I looked at him "take care, okay? And remember, tell me if anything happened, okay?" I nod "see you around, I guess" I say as I took my shoes and started putting it on, I then looked up at him "bye!" I say and he smiles but still seemed sad that I was leaving "bye.."

He opened the door and I started leaving, hearing the door close as I walked back home.
