"Nice sweater," Jungwon nudged Jake as the two waited in line for their job assignment, "Hyung has always had good taste."

Jake blushes and looks down at his moss-green sweater with a purple collar and light green cuffs; the piece was slightly too large on him, so the sleeves were constantly riding down, but the fabric wasn't itchy and didn't irritate his skin, so he was glad.

"I like it too," he smiles at Jungwon and they continue to talk about mundane things - how their first proper night's sleep went, how strangely enjoyable breakfast was even if thirty people were crowding around like a school cafeteria, how nice it is to be able to shower and so on.

"Good morning, you two," Heeseung greets them at the front of the line, a girl accompanying him with her own cheerful smile, "this is Yujin, our second in command. Yujin, this is Jake and this is Jungwon," the three briefly shared courtesy as Heeseung flipped through his booklet, "Jake wrote down fishing, swimming, hunting and herbal knowledge as his special skills and Jungwon was a taekwondo athlete for 7 years."

Yujin nods and looks at her own notes, "Jungwon, how good is your eyesight?"

"It's around 20/25, I'm not sure when was the last time I checked, but I'd say I have pretty sharp eyes."

"I think you'd be good on border patrol with Yuma and Euijoo," she observed as she wrote down Jungwon's name in what looked like a schedule, "ever held a sniper?"

"No, ma'am," Jungwon shook his head, "but I've handled riffles and have steady hands because of archery."

"Perfect," she smiled brightly, "Euijoo!"

A boy ran up to them, his eyes and smile equally as wide, "Yeah?" his voice was much softer than Jake expected, but it was strangely cute.

"This is Jungwon, assist him with the basics and then after you've trained him, we can rearrange the next border patrol schedule."

Euijoo playfully saluted and happily took Jungwon away, the younger giving Jake a small wave before exiting the juvie.

"Your knowledge of plants is something we lack greatly," Heeseung turned to Jake, "we have a small farm going, but we're unsure of most things, like seasonal crops and certain water levels that are required for proper growth. We also struggled heavily last winter. Of course, we have some basic vegetables like potatoes and a few crops, but whenever we try to grow anything like tomatoes or cucumbers, we seem to fall short and end up with barely anything."

"I'm more than happy to help with arranging a new farming system, I can also harvest some local greens or crops if given the chance to explore."

"That would be lovely," Yujin smiled widely at him, "we have a team of farmers, but they're quite unfamiliar with the process."

"I can teach them, it's really no problem," Jake smiles back at her, "if you let me assess the soil and the roots of your current crops, we could try mapping out a plan right away."

"Thank you, Jake, you're doing us a huge favour," Heeseung chimes in, "food is running really low and we're struggling to make ends meet with our search teams. Our situation is starting the be critical because the surrounding areas are being wiped clean by Patrol, so getting our own food source is an urgent matter."

"I'll go fetch Mr. Kwon and Seeun after orientation; we'll get you all acquainted and then they can take you to the farm."

Jake nods and watches Yujin scribble his name on the sheet of paper, "I'll be around."

Heeseung and Yujin waved him off and Jake made his way around the juvie, watching everyone mingle and hustle around.
