"jaehyun, your dad's thee jeong hyunmin? i used to listen to him a lot when i was younger! i'm a fan!" yulhee's mom enthusiastically said

dinner was served in the dining room. jaehyun was like on the hot seat, getting the most attention from yulhee's family.

her two older brothers also arrived and joined the feast. santi, the eldest, gave jaehyun an intense gaze, as toni warmly greeted him with a firm handshake

"yes he is. i'm so glad to hear that mrs. marín"

"how is he? is he still making music? god it's been so long since i last heard of him. i'm having war flashbacks of my younger days"

jaehyun becomes silent, not knowing what to respond as yulhee instantly read his mind. she took his hand under the table and gave it a gentle squeeze

"uh mom could you pass me the chicken please" yuhlee buts in the conversation, trying to distract her mom to let the subject slide away

"thanks ma, jae you should try this! it's dad's own recipe for a traditional spanish dish called pollo al ajillo" yulhee stood up to get the casserole from her mother and served a generous amount of it on jaehyun's plate

the boy thanked her, for the chicken and also for saving his ass from getting emotional in the middle of a family dinner.

"wow sir, it's good!" jaehyun gave her dad a thumbs up

"bueno! eat well hijo" mr. martín said with a satisfied smile along with a nod

the interaction between jaehyun and her dad made yulhee smile, but it faltered when the chicken hits her taste buds. it's as if everything she ate went up

she paused for a while, feeling nauseous. without wasting any moment, yulhee went running towards the bathroom.

the whole family paused in their seats, clearly shocked at what just happened

"excuse me" jaehyun said before bowing respectfully, running after the girl

the house was big and jaehyun nearly lost sight of her until he passed by a worried nana

"hijo what happened to lily?" she asked in english

"where is she?" jaehyun impatiently asked

"she went to her room, in the bathroom"

jaehyun bolts to her room. he went in without any warning and opened the bathroom door

"baby, i'm here" jaehyun immediately gathered her hair back as she threw up everything in her stomach

yulhee groans, still feeling dizzy and nauseous.

"jae, i feel sick" she said before attempting to throw up again but nothing came out anymore. yulhee reached ober to flush the toilet

jaehyun was panicking inside but he didn't show it. yulhee needs someone to hold onto and him panicking is the last thing she wants to see

"shh, let me help you clean up" jaehyun gently made her stand up, making her sit on the bathtub.

jaehyun handed her toothbrush and a cup of water to wash her mouth with.

"your family was shocked" jaehyun said while brushing her hair with his fingers, also massaging her scalp to calm her throbbing head

"mhm" she softly hummed, brushing her teeth weakly

jaehyun took the claw clip placed on the sink and skillfully twisted her hair up then secured it with the clip.

yulhee stood up towards the sinkand rinsed her mouth and toothpaste off.

she stared at the mirror, her bloodshot eyes and reddish face made her look really sick. yulhee then rested her head on jaehyun's neck, letting her weight fall onto his embrace.
