The Sniper

Through the thin paper walls, how much was she to listen and how much was she to say? She had been cautious of the fact since day one and it also served as a practice to further control the sound of her movements.

Taehyung and Hoseok were in the next room, their voices a volume above a hush, not that they feared someone, but that was the manners of people who lived in these traditional Japanese houses.

She could make out the leader's words, "The Grace's Night is in 3 days."

She would have listened some more if not for Jungkook poking her cheek with his finger.

"You shouldn't daydream. Your enemies would take advantage of that," he said. They were sitting on the warm rug by the table, waiting to devour the food Jungkook prepared for them.

"I've been told that, but this time I wasn't daydreaming."

"Were you eavesdropping?" He clicked his tongue. "Bad manners."

"What's Grace's Night?" she asked, shrugging innocently when Jungkook cocked his brow at her bizarre nosiness. "I'm only curious."

He clasped his hands, humming in interest. "It's a party."

"More like a place to threaten people and make them remember why they feared you in the first place," Taehyung spoke, startling her as he entered the room and sat beside her.

"That's a way to put it, Tae, but there is a positive side of it, all the clans gather together, so we get to make new friends." Hoseok chuckled as he took his place beside Jungkook on the ground.

All the clans? So Master Jimin will be there as well.

She had never eaten dinner with people before. Being here, she realized how nice it felt. The warmth and aroma emitting from the food decorated in wooden dishes, rather felt like home, something she was not used to.

Her toes nicely tucked under herself, she rolled her sleeves to begin devouring the food. "I've never been to a party," she spoke after mentally praising the softness of the tofu in Sundubu-jjigae.

Jungkook audibly gasped.

Oh no, she clamped her lips closed.

It wasn't supposed to slip out!

"How in the world have you never been to a party?" Jungkook asked, dumbfounded.

"I wasn't a cool kid, you see. I would rather stay at home and practice new forms." She made up a fitting scenario to go with her personality, hopefully, they will buy it.

"Then would you like to come with us?" Hoseok asked, shocking the guys and her.

She looked at them with her widened eyes. "Can I?"

"Of course! We would be glad to have such a stunning lady by our side the whole evening." The smile Hoseok wore, reached his eyes. No matter how much she tried to read between the lines, there was nothing but kindness.

"Thank you," she softly let out, still confused by his sweet behavior.

The information she had received mentioned nothing about the kind personality of the Taiyo clan's leader. To say she was surprised, would be an understatement.

"Damn it! We have an intruder in our headquarters. Check the staff and their IDs, and I need you to gather all our trainees." Namjoon wiped his sweaty forehead. Matters were worse than he had anticipated. Whoever had the guts to break into their system, was inclined to mess everything up.
