The Tsuki clan's leader, Park Jimin, was unlike the people Laira Takai could read with a proper glance. He was an exceptional case of secrecy and complex intentions that she could not decipher. But that shouldn't have concerned her out of her mind...

The wind felt like it was teething on the tips of her fingers and ears, whereas her neck was protected by a warm scarf – a scarf bought by Min Yoongi. The man was crouched on the sidewalk, waiting to catch Elijah near his house, like spotting a bunny in the wild.
Chloe stretched down the sweater's sleeves, clutching the ends between her fingers. The cold was only growing as the night continued to deepen. The clock was ticking on the midnight hours, and the streets were lonely except for the flickering neon lights of the signboards outside the nightclubs.
If a living body made an appearance, it was either in a hurry or in a haze. All had their destinations, albeit with a purpose or without.
"Can you get seasick due to train travel?"
Yoongi got up on his feet. "I thought you'd happily take this over being confined to a small room."
She scrunched her brows in irritation. "When you don't open your mouth for too long, I forget who I'm talking to."
"Too bad. I'll do you a favor and keep talking."
Chloe rested her head back on the brick wall in exhaustion, her eyes landing on the assassin beside her. His hair was curtaining his blackberry eyes as he leaned against the wall with his head ducked
"Very funny, but talking isn't Min Yoongi's favorite tool for self-expression."
"Then, what is?" he questioned, with his gaze pinned to the ground.
She shrugged. "Now that I think of it, it's the small things that you do. You use your actions to convey your intentions, but discreetly. Maybe you're not straightforward because you don't want the other person to understand you, or maybe you're scared of judgment."
"Your understanding of psychology and human behavior is not up to the mark for an assassin," he said, scraping his boot on the concrete street divider.
She pushed away from the wall, turning to face him. "See, you still can't admit it."
"Admit what?" He lifted his head to meet her eyes. "That was a poor analysis. Scared of judgement? I should remind you that my whole personality is based on 'I don't give a crap about what people say.' I've done things that prove that. I've dragged you out with me from a crowded hall before I tied you to a chair. People who care about others' judgment wouldn't even breathe around the thought of it."
"Yet, you don't leave the shell of monotonous expressions and a nonchalant attitude. When you find something fascinating, something as small as the automatic blinds in the train, you restrict yourself from reacting, but your eyes betray you. They tell the truth, Min Yoongi. You think I didn't see the way you helped the kid get on the bench in the station, or how you opened the window for the pregnant passenger in the cabin? Not to mention this scarf you got me. It's all small actions for you."
