Hailee was driving home from work one night, thinking about you as she often did before realising that it has been exactly 6 months since your break up.

The months seemed to fly by but take forever at the same time. She had seen you once in the six months, yet she could never stop thinking about you.

No matter how much she wanted to reach out, she knew that there was no point until some time had passed. Until she was better.

After all this time, Hailee was better. She was happier in her life and felt like there was only one thing missing, you.

Hailee drove past your street a couple times a week as it was on the way home from her current work.

This particular evening, she really wanted to drive up to your house to see you. She really considered it but drove past before she made a final decision.

"Fuck it." Hailee muttered under her breath as she did a sharp u-turn on the empty road. She took the all too familiar path to your house, it had been so long but it felt just the same as she parked in front of your house.

She smiled seeing your car in the drive way as that was a good indication that you were home. She sat in her car for a few minutes trying to build up the courage to go up to the door.

She stepped out of her car and slowly made her way to your door, knocking on it softly. A woman that Hailee did not recognise opened the door.

A confused look crossed Hailees face "is Y/n here?" She asked softly. "She's in the shower. But you can come in or I can tell her you stopped by?" The blonde stranger offered kindly.

Hailee felt weird about the situation as a pit formed in her stomach. Who was this woman? Was she too late?

"Uh, it's okay nevermind." Hailee uttered as she scratched her neck, a nervous habit she had developed in her teens.

"Are you sure? I'm sure she'll be out soon, she doesn't usually take long." The woman asked and all Hailee could think of was how would she know how long you normally take to shower.

"Yeah no it's fine. Forget I was here," Hailee said quickly and walked back to her car, quickly pulling away from your house.

Hailee felt tears prick at her eyes as she drove home, her mind running quickly as she starts to overthink the situation.

Once she got home she collapsed on her couch with exhaustion, only her two dogs left to cuddle into her which made her smile lightly. At least they will never leave her she thought.

You stepped out of the much needed shower, your muscles having relaxed under the hot water.

You make your way to the kitchen to prepare some dinner, especially since you had a guest. "You good?" You ask as you see her with a confused expression.

"Um yeah, something...odd just happened" she says with a pause trying to think of the right word to use. You were intrigued and raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"What happened?" You chuckle. "Someone came here looking for you" she starts, and you look at her with a keep talking expression.

"I remember you told me about her, fuck what was her name" she says as she snapped her fingers trying to think. "Hailee, I think. Your girlfriend.. or ex?" The blonde asked in confusion as she knew you dated but recalled something about a break up.

"I don't know it's complicated." You say as you start prepping dinner. "Did she say what she wants?" You ask.

"No. I offered for her to come in or to tell you she stopped by but she said no and to forget she was here." The woman said "which I thought was a pretty odd thing to say." She added.
