I changed into a swimsuit even though I was not going into the water. I did not like the sea, nor can I swim, but if an emergency were to arise with water, I wanted to be prepared. I filled my bag with my old phone, my song book, a mini pencil case, sun block, my lilac flask, and wallet. I also packed my little leather grey pouch that held my mini hand sanitiser, mini wipes, band aids, floss, lip balm, a mirror, a mini hand lotion, and tampons; little essentials that I need when I leave the house for a couple hours.
I place my guitar on my shoulder via the strap, grabbed my main phone and beach towel, then left my room. I told Josie and Kai that I'd be downstairs waiting for them.

"You look like you're ready to go somewhere," Mum observed as I approach the three best friends.
I rested my guitar against the wall and sat next to Mum on the stool. "Josie, Kai and I are going to the beach. They'll be swimming whilst I'll be finding inspiration for a new song."
"Elle, you're so lucky to have kids who want to spend time together," Laurel said, thinking about the constant bickering of her two teens.
"I hear that," Susannah agreed.
"What can I say? God dealt me a perfect hand," Mum boasted, giving me a side hug.
"Abby, you look so beautiful, and where did this body come from?" Susannah said, gesturing to me.

Only few possess such a gift. Dad did it for Mum all the time. It made her feel butterflies, like it was their first date all over again.
