________________________________Character: Bellamy Blake, Y/N
Rating: T (kissing)
Prompt: Bellamy confesses his feelings after Y/N regains consciousness.
***
Bellamy burst into the tent, eyes rapidly scanning the area for signs of Y/N. Dark curls ruffled, hands bandaged from a recent scuffle with grounders, he was a mess, and everyone knew it.
"Bellamy, she's just unconscious-" started a blonde girl. Biting back a sarcastic retort, he brushed past her to Y/N's side. If it weren't for her bloody, cracked lips and her too-thin cheeks, she could've been peacefully sleeping.
He looked stonily over his shoulder, jaw clenched.
"What the hell happened?" The blonde girl's tongue flitted over her lips as she shifted her weight.
"Well, she brought back the missing boy-" Bellamy stood up, eyebrows furrowed and mouth hanging open.
"What?" he barked, "She was going on a hunting trip-" The blonde pursed her lips, her annoyance overpowering her patience.
"Y/N brought back the missing boy, but only just. She was severely dehydrated while he was able to tell us what had happened, meaning she gave him her water. Probably her other rations, too."
Bellamy looked back at her sleeping form, taking in a deep breath before plastering a smile on his face.
"Alright. Thank you, that's it."
The blonde stood uncomfortably by the exit, waiting for him to leave. "I'm just gonna sit with her, hm?" he grinned, winking at the girl. She blinked, a tinge of pink appearing above her cheekbones.
Before, he would've gone after her. She was cute and willing, which was pretty much all he liked in a fling.
But now, after his best friend had gone missing for a week, after he'd thought he'd lost one of the two people who just got him, something was going to change.
Slipping one arm behind her torso and the other behind her knees, he pulled Y/N against his chest and walked calmly out of the tent and into his own, depositing her gently onto his cot.
Eyes still closed, she shifted her head, unconscious but somewhat aware of her change in surroundings. Bellamy grinned, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
If he was going to be truthful, she wasn't the prettiest female in the 100. Wait, that wasn't right. She wasn't really conventionally beautiful; Y/N was more...subtly pretty. And then there was her wicked sense of humor, and how the corner of her mouth would twitch upwards when she was about to spit out a witty comment. How she threw her head back when she laughed. You knew you'd succeeded when she cried tears of laughter at one of your jokes.
Gently moving her to the side, Bellamy eased himself onto the blanket beside Y/N, careful to not disturb her. Turning onto his side, he wrapped an arm around her, breathing in her woodsy smell, and closed his eyes.
You opened your eyes to see the ceiling of a tent and, out of your peripheral vision, half of a face.
Half of a face?
Scrabbling backwards on your palms and knees, you tore yourself out of the warmth you'd previously been occupying, catching sight of a dazed Bellamy rolling onto his back.
"Whoa, Y/N, it's me," he groaned, one hand waving confusedly in the air, the other rubbing at his eyes.
You let out a long breath, slumping forward in exhaustion. Bellamy immediately caught you as you fell back onto the blanket, biting back a grin as you struggled to keep your eyes open.
"Hey, Bells," you muttered, blinking heavily, "God, I'm thirsty." A smug smile stretched across his face as you curled into your best friend's chest, letting out a tiny sigh of contentment.
"That's what they tend to say after waking up to this," he smirked, tugging back his blanket to reveal his bare chest. You snorted, pinching his bicep before wrapping your arm around his waist.
After helping you drink a few sips of water, Bellamy leaned back against the side of his tent, your back reclined against his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.
"You were gone for longer than expected," he said at last, the topic not having been touched upon until now. You angled your neck to fit into the crook of his.
"You wouldn't have let me go if I told you I was going to find him."
"No," he sighed, fingers tracing the scattered, thin white scars that criss-crossed your arms and legs, "I would've gone with you."
From behind you, Bellamy watched your mouth intently, breathing out a sigh of relief as it curled upwards in a smile. Not the biggest he'd made you smile, but after he thought he'd lost you, this was a start.
You leaned your head back to gently press your lips onto the bottom of his jaw. You'd never explicitly told Bellamy about how you'd been wanting to do more than that. It'd be crappy if that kind of thing came between your friendship, and then your dynamic and partnership, and could thereby threaten your survival.
"Y/N, I-" he broke off, clenching his jaw in frustration. You grinned, prodding gently at his chest.
"Tell me," you teased, "Tell me, tell me, tell me." Bellamy fought back a smile, playfully deflecting your pokes. "Bells! You tell me everything!"
Not everything, he thought, somewhat regretfully.
"Bellamy!" you laughed, "Please?"
Oh, what the hell. My lifespan isn't that long, anyways.
Raising an eyebrow, he gestured with one finger for you to move closer. You leaned in, painfully aware of how close he was to you-
And felt his lips on your own. You instinctively reached up, fingers tracing his cheeks, his neck, his shoulders, anything to be near him as his arms curled perfectly around your waist, fingers slipping slowly under the hem of your shirt.
About time.
