Luffy, the vibrant Omega college student of the renowned Grand Line University, was famous throughout the campus not only for his radiant, sun-like smile but also for his uncanny ability to inadvertently draw his close-knit group of friends into comedic and sometimes unbelievable situations. He worked part-time at a small but well-regarded bar named "Going Merry," tucked away on a bustling side street where the neon lights cast a warm yet mysterious glow. The bar owner, a kind-faced middle-aged woman named Makino, held Luffy in high regard for his sociable, outgoing personality and his exceptional talent for engaging with customers. Moreover, a considerable number of the bar's V.I.P. clientele, individuals of high standing and refined taste, held a particular fondness for Luffy's genuine charm and natural grace.
One evening, as the clock approached midnight, signaling the end of Luffy's shift, a wave of drowsiness began to wash over him, accompanied by a gnawing emptiness in his stomach. His thoughts drifted to the image of the delicious food that his close friend and the group's talented cook, Sanji, had thoughtfully prepared and stored in a thermal box, anticipating Luffy's hunger after work. "I'M SO HUNGRY!!" Luffy groaned softly, a sound that, despite its low volume, conveyed the depth of his craving.
Meanwhile, on Law's side...
Trafalgar Law, a brilliant yet aloof and reserved surgical doctor from the city's largest hospital, steered his sleek black Mercedes-Benz towards his luxurious villa, situated far from the noisy and chaotic residential areas. He detested the hustle and bustle of urban life, longing only to return to the quiet comfort of his home after the demanding hours at the hospital. Today, he felt an overwhelming exhaustion, both physically and mentally, following a lengthy and intricate surgery that had just concluded. Instead of driving straight home, he unexpectedly changed direction, choosing to visit his usual haunt, the "Going Merry" bar, a place where he often sought solace from the pressures of his profession.
"Damn it..." He muttered under his breath, his voice hoarse, exhaling heavily after the grueling three-hour operation, a period where the line between life and death had felt particularly fragile. "Damn... I shouldn't have agreed to participate in that surgery... it was insane..." He berated himself, his hand adorned with intricate, dark tattoos rubbing wearily across his furrowed brow, as he continued his drive to the bar, hoping to find some semblance of peace in the amber glow of alcohol.
As the car pulled up in front of the bar, Law stepped out, immediately noticing the strong scent of alcohol wafting from within. "The smell of alcohol is so strong... I wish I was in my damn house now..." He whispered, trying to shake off the unpleasant sensation, before striding with long steps towards the payment counter. "A V.I.P. room at the end of block A," his cold voice addressed the young receptionist, "change to someone else... as long as it's not Fujiko..." Law added, his body unconsciously emitting a potent Alpha pheromone, a distinct scent that asserted his dominant status and caused those nearby to feel a subtle pressure.
"Yes, sir," the young receptionist replied with a forced smile, trying to maintain her professional composure despite the slight tremor of unease she felt in the presence of Law's powerful aura. Several scantily clad, heavily made-up women had quickly identified Law as a wealthy target. They eagerly approached him, their intentions clear through their suggestive glances and deliberate brushes. One particularly bold woman even dared to take his arm, her voice syrupy sweet as she purred, "Darling ~ I know a hotel-" Her words were abruptly cut short by the piercing, murderous glare Law fixed upon her, causing the woman and her companions to recoil in fear, their faces paling. "Don't bother me, you filthy whores..." He spat out the insult with utter contempt before striding purposefully towards the reserved V.I.P. room, leaving behind a trail of shocked and resentful gazes.
Inside the bar, meanwhile, on Luffy's side...
Luffy hurried over to the waitress named Mary, still wearing his light blue maid outfit, the short, flared skirt of which was far from revealing but rather accentuated his small and endearing figure. "Oi!! Did you call me?" Luffy asked, flashing his signature radiant smile, his large, bright eyes like two sapphire gems looking at Mary with curiosity. "Can you serve a doctor at the end of block A without-" Mary hadn't even finished her sentence before she was interrupted by Luffy's irresistibly adorable pout.
"What?? At midnight?? Please don't kill my tiny brain!!" Luffy groaned, his cheeks puffing out like a small squirrel's, clearly not wanting to work at this late hour. "There will be a generous tip-" Mary tried to persuade him, but she was once again cut off by Luffy's sudden change of heart. "Yes!! Nishishishi!!~" He grinned brightly, his eyes sparkling at the mention of a "tip." "Get to work, you idiot," Mary chuckled, flicking Luffy's forehead affectionately, to which he responded with a small rub of his forehead and a playful pout.
Luffy cheerfully picked up a tray of drinks, politely knocking three soft times on the door of the V.I.P. room before pushing it open and stepping inside. "Oi!! Hello, I'm Luffy! Do you need any help?" Luffy greeted with a bright smile, his curious gaze settling on the left arm of the man sitting on the luxurious leather sofa. The arm was covered in intricate, black tattoos, complex lines interwoven to create a pattern that was both mysterious and captivating. "Is he a doctor?" Luffy wondered to himself, feeling a flicker of admiration. "A man? Well, at least it's not Fujiko..." Law muttered under his breath, his deep voice barely audible. Luffy tilted his head, his large eyes blinking innocently at Law. "Huh?" He asked, confused.
"Nothing," Law replied, his tone still icy, the white beanie he wore obscuring his dark hair and concealing his sharp, grey eyes.
"Are you a child? Why do you look so shor-" Luffy blurted out, completely unaware that his question might touch a sensitive nerve. Law abruptly cut him off, his gaze sharpening. "NO!! Please don't call me a child!! I'm 19 years old!!" Luffy pouted, trying to convey his maturity. Law looked at him, a strange sensation stirring within him. He had never felt this way before, an inexplicable attraction to a stranger.
"Alright, then get me a glass of red wine," Law said, his eyes inadvertently glancing over Luffy's maid outfit, a fleeting moment of awkwardness crossing his usually impassive face. "Okay, what's your name? Nishishishi!~" Luffy asked with an innocent smile, diffusing the initial tension. "Law," he replied curtly. "L-La..L- Torao!!" Luffy stammered, trying to address him in a more friendly manner, but the name seemed a bit difficult for him to pronounce. Law's eyebrows furrowed slightly. He generally disliked nicknames, even Penguin, Shachi, and Bepo, his close comrades in the Heart Pirates, rarely dared to call him by that moniker.
"Here you go, your wine! It's delicious!!~" Luffy placed the glass on the table with a wide, beaming smile, his eyes sparkling with naivety. You are a child, so innocent... Law thought to himself, a faint smile playing on his lips, a smile that even he didn't quite register.
