Law took a slow sip of the red wine, the rich, dark liquid coating his tongue with a familiar warmth. The exhaustion from the grueling surgery still clung to him, a dull ache behind his eyes. He closed his eyes briefly, trying to dispel the turmoil in his mind. The strange sensation from looking at the young waiter lingered. His innocence, his brightness... it was so different.
Finishing his wine sooner than intended, Law opened his eyes, his cold gaze directed towards the door of the V.I.P. room. He felt the need for another drink, but the appearance of the boy named Luffy had stirred a different thought in his mind. A thought that was both unexpected and somewhat... possessive.
He flicked his wrist subtly, a silent, invisible wave spreading out beyond the V.I.P. room door, encompassing the bar area. He needed to handle this discreetly, without drawing any attention from the other patrons.
Moments later, the door to the V.I.P. room creaked open, and Law's two trusted subordinates entered. One was tall and slender with a distinctive penguin hat, the other was broad-shouldered with a serious expression. Penguin and Shachi. Law had contacted them via Den Den Mushi the moment that strange urge had taken hold. He didn't fully understand the feeling, but he knew he wanted... to keep that Omega by his side.
Penguin, ever the one to understand Law's intentions best, walked directly to where his captain was seated on the luxurious leather sofa. Shachi followed behind, standing silently like a statue, awaiting orders.
"Captain," Penguin began, his voice low, showing his respect. "You summoned us urgently?"
Law placed his empty glass on the table, his grey eyes fixed on Penguin. "I have a task for you two."
"We are ready, Captain," Shachi said, his voice gruff but loyal.
"The waiter who just brought me wine," Law said, his gaze flicking towards the closed door. "I want you two... to arrange for him to belong to me."
Penguin and Shachi exchanged a surprised glance, but they were too accustomed to their captain's sudden decisions to question him openly. "Belong to... you?" Penguin repeated, trying to clarify Law's meaning.
"That's right. Find a way to negotiate with the owner. Pay whatever price they demand," Law said, his voice firm, brooking no argument. "I want him."
Penguin frowned slightly, but he knew better than to doubt his captain's commands. "Understood, Captain. We will see to it immediately."
Penguin and Shachi left the V.I.P. room and headed towards the bar, where Luffy had just returned to wipe down the counter. Mary was busy preparing drinks for other customers.
Penguin waited politely until Mary was free before speaking. "Excuse me," he said, his voice formal but decisive. "We would like to discuss the young man working here." He gestured subtly towards Luffy.
Mary looked up, her eyes questioning. "Luffy? Is something wrong?" She felt a flicker of concern, wondering what these serious-looking men wanted with him.
"We wish to propose an arrangement," Penguin said, his tone calm. "We want to buy him."
Mary's eyes widened in disbelief. "Buy? Buy Luffy? What are you talking about?" She chuckled, thinking it was some bizarre joke.
"We are quite serious," Shachi stated, his voice stern, leaving no room for doubt.
Penguin pulled out a thick wad of shiny Beri notes and placed it on the counter. "This is a down payment, as per the Captain's instructions. We will pay the remainder upon completion."
Mary stared at the stack of money, her skepticism slowly giving way to astonishment. This amount... it was enormous, far more than she had ever seen.
Just then, the bar owner, Marko, overheard the conversation and approached. Seeing the thick stack of Beri on the counter, his eyes lit up with greed. "What's going on here, Mary?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
Mary stammered, recounting the strange offer from the two men. The owner listened, his gaze shifting between the money and Luffy, who was now laughing with a customer, a cold calculation forming in his eyes.
"How much?" he asked Penguin, his voice hoarse, barely concealing his eagerness.
"We will pay a reasonable price, whatever you deem appropriate," Penguin replied, well aware of the value their captain placed on his desires.
The owner swallowed hard. This amount of money could solve so many of his problems, perhaps even change his life. "Alright... alright," he said, his voice slightly trembling but filled with determination. "Luffy... he belongs to you."
Luffy, completely oblivious to the transaction that had just taken place, had just brought another glass of red wine into the V.I.P. room for Law. As he entered, Law gestured for him to come closer.
"Luffy," Law called, his voice low and husky. "Have a drink with me?" He offered Luffy a glass that had already been prepared.
Luffy looked at the glass, then back at Law, confused. "But I'm working..."
"It's alright," Law said, a rare, fleeting smile touching his lips. "You don't need to work anymore tonight."
With his trusting nature and without a hint of suspicion, Luffy accepted the glass. The first few sips tasted sweet, but soon after, a burning sensation spread through his body, and his head began to spin. What Law had given him wasn't just wine.
"Torao... I feel a little..." Luffy slurred, his voice fading before everything went black. He collapsed onto the floor, unconscious. Law looked down at the small, still figure, a complex emotion – a mixture of satisfaction and a strange... unease – stirring within him. Penguin and Shachi had just entered the room, witnessing the final scene.
"Let's go," Law said, his voice devoid of emotion, before turning and walking out of the room, leaving Luffy lying motionless on the floor.
