A/N: This is a bit different than what I usually write about, like story line wise. It was a request from a friend of mine so I went with it. Hope you like it.
Quinn and I had met when my family and I were on vacation in Vancouver visiting some of our family. When we met he was twenty and I was seventeen. He was playing his first year with the Canucks and I was in my junior year of high school. I met him when I was stupidly walking around the streets of Vancouver drunk with my cousin. I had lost my cousin so I was getting myself lost looking for her when I ran into a strong chest. I don't remember much from that night except remembering that man taking me back to my aunts house and us exchanging phone numbers. When I woke up the next morning I saw his text explaining everything that had happened, and I responded even though I was embarrassed.
I thanked him for taking a random stranger that he met on the streets at 11pm home. He said it was not problem and that he would never leave a pretty lady wondering around the streets of a big city. That was the first move he made. It first started off with us flirting and getting to know each other over text. We decided to meet up again now that I was sober and go out to lunch before I left back to my home town in Wyoming. Once we sat down it felt like we had known each other for ages and I could tell that even though I had only known this man for about a week that there was a connection between us. After I left to go back home I thought we would lose contact because he was a big hot shot hockey player and had no time.
I was 100% wrong. Quinn texted me, called me, and FaceTimed me every day at least once. I was shocked to say the least. We kept that going for two months until I was on spring break for school and I had somehow convinced my parents and brother to go back to Vancouver to visit our family. They didn't need to know my real reason was to see Quinn. My brother knew of course because I had to tell someone what was happening between Quinn and I. My brother told me he would cover for me and keep it a secret as long as Quinn got him tickets to his games while we were there. Of course Quinn came through with his promise and even went as far as getting tickets for my whole family. That was when I had to tell them what was happening between us.
My parents were a little hesitant at first because he was three years older than me and lived in a different country, but the second they met Quinn they changed their minds. That night after my parents and brother left dinner Quinn took me to get milkshakes and then took me on a drive around the city. He parked in a little pull out that had an amazing view and he turned to me and kissed me. After we pulled away from the kiss he put his forehead on mine and said "Anna will you be my girlfriend" I nodded my head and a huge smile broke out on my face and I kissed him again. That night we spent the rest of the night driving around and stealing kisses from one another.
I was only able to spend three more days with Quinn until I had to go back home for school. It was a sad goodbye but he told me that whenever he got an off weekend or a couple of days he would fly down to see me. I didn't believe him at first but he did exactly as he said he would. The one thing I did not tell Quinn when we first started dating is what sport I did. He knew I did a sport he just did not know which one. The reason I was hesitant to tell him was because it was not a normal sport and it was the complete opposite of what he did. I did rodeo. Barrel racing and team roping to be specific. I was not planning on telling him either afraid of him judging me, but when he came in town in the beginning of June after his team got eliminated from the playoffs I had to tell him; because well it was the weekend of my first rodeo for the summer season.
I sat him down and finally told him what I did, and I was expecting him to break up with me and judge me right then and there, but he had the complete opposite reaction. He knew very little about the sport so I had to explain some stuff to him and how the events worked and he slowly got to understanding it more. I showed him some of my videos and then showed him some of my brother's videos. My brother did team roping with me and then did steer wrestling. He found it amazing that I did this and told me he could not wait to see it in person. I was so happy that he was supporting me, because in the past I had had boys breakup with me because they thought that rodeo was lame.
