Ava jolts awake hearing the chain around her ankle unlock and fall to the ground. She sees Jason grabbing the chain and throwing it to the side. He picks her up, gently holding her in his arms as he takes her out of the bedroom for the first time in ages.
Ava can only let him carry her, amazed to see her plan was working. "A-are we really going back to camp?" She asks, resting her head against Jason's chest. He nods his head as they go outside. Ava squinting a bit seeing the sun after being trapped inside. Carrying her through miles of thick forest and an abandoned tunnel, all the way to his former camp.
Jason finally puts her down, Ava's legs shaking a bit to support her weight. Ava grabs her bag smiling now that she could sneak her phone to call for help. She's about to get back in Jason's arms when she notices Jason looking at the lake, clenching his fists.
"I read all about what happened before I came here... i can't imagine what it must've felt like" Ava says, patting his back gently. They both stare at the water when Ava sees something move in the corner of her eye, a small shadow in the window ducking away. The woman knows what it must be and takes a step back "I left some stuff in the cabins, so you mind if I get it quickly? It's really embarrassing... w-womanly products y-ya know?"
Ava lies without a second thought. Scratching the back of her neck to act embarrassed. The man stares at her for a second before nodding, watching as Ava quickly walks to the cabin.Closing the door behind her and avoiding the windows, she quickly looks around quietly whispering "Quinn... Quinn I don't have a lot of time..." The small child crawls out from behind a closet, a traumatised look across his face as he wraps his arms around Ava tightly. He opens his mouth to talk but Ava covers it quickly.
"Don't say anything... I need your complete trust... Do you trust me?" She whispers in his ear, feeling Quinn nod she pulls him away "stay in your hiding spot. Never come out no matter what you hear." She tells him, moving him back behind the closet and handing him some food and bottled water from her bag. She looks at the scared boy's face, then hears Jason knock on the door. Ava shakes a little, taking a deep breath as she hands Quinn her cell phone "call the police, tell them to only come at day got it? Don't try to be a hero, look out for yourself."
Quinn lets out a little whimper, but Ava tightens her grip "got it?!" She asks again, letting go once she sees him nodding. Ava waits for him to be completely hidden before opening the door facing Jason. The man tilts his head noticing she looked nervous, but Ava quickly lies "there was just a rat that crawled away, rats scare me".
They walk away, Ava glancing over her shoulder at the cabin. Still worried about leaving the small boy there all alone. She feels a gentle tug on her hand and turns back to Jason "oh sorry, I'm just feeling a little woozy after being outside. The suns a lot hotter than I remember"
Ava places her hands on Jason's chest, stepping on her tiptoes to lean in and place a gentle over his mask where his lips should be. Ava tucks her hair behind her ear looking up at him sweetly "thank you for taking me here Jason, it means a lot to me..." she says wrapping her arms around his torso holding him close, insuring that any suspicions he would've had should be gone now. A feeling of success as Ava feels him hug her back, then pick her up and carry her back to their own cabin.Ava keeps a smile on her face, but deep down she could feel her hope fizzling out. She lets out a sigh as she's taken back inside her prison, but to her surprise Jason doesn't take her back into the bedroom. Putting her down carefully in the living room, giving her head a gentle pat before walking off into a different room. Ava looks into the dark spot in the room, locking eyes with Michael.
