As Emma's ears perked up to the sound of Mikey's bike, she glanced over and saw him parking shortly followed by Draken. Without a moment's hesitation, she rushed over to her brother, her heart pounding with worry.

"Mikey, she's—she's—" Emma struggled to get the words out, her voice catching in her throat as she fought back tears, her gaze flickering towards you.

Mikey's expression shifted to one of alarm as he hurried over, dropping to his knees beside you. "Anuva!... Anuva," he called out urgently, his voice laced with worry, but you could barely muster a response.

With gentle hands, Mikey lifted you into his arms, his touch a comforting anchor amidst the chaos. He settled you onto the seat of his bike.

As Mikey revved the engine and sped away, the rush of wind against your skin, The city lights blurred into streaks as you raced through the streets, each passing moment marked by the throb of pain.

"Mi... key..." you managed to murmur, your voice barely above a whisper. You clung to him tightly, seeking solace in his presence as he guided the bike through the night.

You wrapped your arm around Mikey, seeking comfort in his strength as tears pricked at the corners of your eyes.

"Don't worry... you're going to be okay. I promise" Mikey said, his voice filled with determination. His grip on the handlebars tightened a silent promise to protect you at all costs.

As the hospital loomed into view, you felt a surge of apprehension mingled with hope. Your consciousness slipped away, as you surrendered to the comforting darkness. In Mikey's arms, you felt weightless, cocooned in a sense of safety despite the urgency of the situation.

The journey through the hospital corridors was a blur of fluorescent lights and hurried footsteps, punctuated by the rhythmic beat of your own heartbeat.

At last, the emergency room loomed before you, a hive of activity as medical professionals bustled about, their urgent voices blending into a symphony of chaos.

Every beep of the monitors, every hushed conversation only served to heighten the tension in the room.

In the waiting room, time seemed to stretch endlessly as Mikey paced back and forth, his footsteps echoing off the sterile walls. His mind raced with a million thoughts, each one more terrifying than the last.

Emma and Draken arrived soon after, their presence a balm to Mikey's frayed nerves. Emma's eyes brimmed with unshed tears as she rushed to Mikey's side.

"Who attacked you both?" Mikey's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, his tone tight with barely suppressed rage. Emma's voice trembled as she recounted the encounter, her words filled with fear and disbelief.

"They were just some thugs... we didn't even see their faces," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur. Draken's expression darkened at the news, his jaw clenched with barely contained anger.

"She will survive," he declared, his voice a steady anchor in the storm. "After all, she is the unknown demon, isn't she?"

His words hung in the air, a testament to the resilience and strength that had brought you all together.

Minutes stretched into hours, each one feeling like an eternity as they waited for news of your condition. Every passing moment was filled with a sense of dread, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on them like a leaden blanket.

And then, finally, the door to the emergency room swung open, breaking the suffocating silence. The doctors emerged as they made their way towards Mikey and the others.

Mikey's heart leaped into his throat as he stood to meet them, his hands trembling with a mixture of fear and hope. Emma and Draken rose to their feet beside him, their eyes wide with apprehension.

The lead doctor spoke first, his voice steady yet somber. "The surgery was a success," he said, his words a balm to their frayed nerves. "She's stable now, and we expect a full recovery."

Relief washed over Mikey like a tidal wave, followed quickly by a surge of gratitude. The weight that had been bearing down on him for what felt like an eternity was suddenly lifted, replaced by a sense of overwhelming relief.

Mikey surged forward, his heart pounding in his chest as he pushed past the threshold and into the room beyond. Emma and Draken exchanged a silent glance before quietly slipping away, leaving Mikey alone with you.

Inside the recovery room, a sense of quiet descended over him, broken only by the soft sound of machines humming in the background.

You lay on the bed, pale but peaceful, surrounded by monitors and IV lines.

Mikey approached the bed and he reached out a hand, gently grasping yours in his. As he gazed down at you, a flood of emotions washed over him, from relief and gratitude to a deep-seated fear of what could have been.

As Mikey stood by your bedside, his fingers intertwined with yours, a sense of clarity washed over him. He couldn't deny the surge of emotions that welled up within him, emotions that he had been trying to ignore but could no longer suppress.

In the short time since he had met you, Mikey had felt a connection unlike any other. Your strength, your resilience, and your undeniable presence in his life had left an indelible mark on him, one that he couldn't shake.

And now, as he looked down at your peaceful face, he couldn't help but acknowledge the truth that lay before him.

He had feelings for you, feelings that ran deeper than mere attraction.
