Riley was getting ready to go the rodeo with Daniel and Liam the next night. Everything from the night prior was blurry after a few shots, she couldn't piece anything together anymore, no matter how hard she tried.
Riley slid on her boots, hearing a small knocked coming from the hotel room door. Riley walked over to the door quickly, opening it to see Ava holding a black journal that was almost identical to hers. Riley peeked her head out the door, seeing Tristen waiting at the elevator giving her a small wave as Ava walked into her room.
"Where'd you get that" Riley asked, taking the book from Ava as she closed the door.
"Thurthur said-" Ava paused, trying to remember what it was, "That his grand gesture is in there"
Riley took the journal, following Ava into the room more. She sat at the edge of the bed, opening the journal, sighing when almost everything was written in french, meaning she would have to translate it to find his 'grand gesture'.
Riley wasn't sure if she was supposed to tell Liam that Arthur said he loved her. But the words kept playing in her mind, over, and over, and over again. The more she thought about it the more genuine it felt. She was just terrified that if she gave him the chance, he would hurt her and it would all be for nothing.
Riley handed the journal to Ava asking her if she could put it into her bag. She took it, unzipping her bag just to see a journal that looks identical to what she was holding. Confusedly, she puts Arthurs down next to it, zipping the bag back up. Liam and Daniel burst through the doors, ready to go, both wearing cowboy hats that they left for hours ago.
"Let's go" Daniel said loudly rushing into the room. "We're going to be late"
"And who's fault is that" Riley said getting up. Riley grabbed her tote bag that was resting on the back of a chair, making sure everything was in it, her phone, her wallet, her camera and a new SD card that lacks any photos.
"Do you have everything" Liam asked, peaking over Riley's shoulder into her bag.
"Looks like" She said, looking over her shoulder and seeing Liam with a hat on. "The hats not for you" Riley said with a laugh, taking it off his head and putting it on her own.
"I thought it looked alright" He said, moving past her, grabbing something off the table.
"It looked dumb" Ava said, looking at him plainly before taking Riley's hand and taking her to the door.
Ava was becoming very vocal about her not liking Liam, and Riley couldn't find out why. But it was a mixture of many thing's, Josie got it into her head that Riley was going to end up with someone else, and her hanging around Arthur in Charleston. But Ava loved Max and Riley. Liam also never made much of an effort to get onto Ava's good side. They all collectively walked out of the hotel room, heading straight down the hallway.
Ava skipped along the halls, swinging her hand with Riley's excitedly. They waited in front of the elevator, only having to go down one floor to get to the lobby. Nerves hit Riley once the door's revealed the lobby, she sighed seeing the line of people outside the hotel. She wasn't nervous for herself at this point, but for Ava.
Riley held Ava in her arms, walking in the lobby with Liam in front of them. They walked through the crowd that started making room for them once they saw Ava in Riley's arms. Riley made it through the crowd, heading straight to Josh's truck that they were taking that night, just so they didn't have to switch out Ava's carseat.
"I want to sit in the back" Ava said pointing to the bed of the truck.
"Mom would kill me"
