When we part, her eyes search mine, filled with a mix of uncertainty and desire. The vulnerability I see there only heightens my amusement. Does she know what she's done? What she's stepped into?
I lean closer, my voice barely above a whisper, "Do you dare to walk the path of shadows with me, Eva?"
Her breath catches. She leans in as if drawn by something beyond her control, the line between right and wrong blurring into oblivion. When our lips meet again, the heat is palpable, the tension electric. The thrill of the forbidden pulses through every kiss, every breath, and I can feel the rush of adrenaline, of control, as I pull her deeper into my web.

Then, like a cruel twist of fate, a knock shatters the moment. The bubble of intimacy between us bursts. The voice on the other side of the door makes my lip curl with disdain: Theodore.
Eva's face flickers with panic, and before she can say anything, I press a finger to her lips. "Shh... stay here," I whisper, my voice soothing but firm. As I stand, she grips my sleeve, her fingers trembling.
"Don't," she hisses in a low, frantic whisper.
Ignoring her plea, I straighten my shirt and head to the door, already anticipating the confrontation. When I open it, I greet him with a smile, though it's as false as the man standing before me.
"Good evening, Mr. Orlov."
He glares at me, suspicion and anger etched into his every feature. He steps inside, his presence somehow both pitiful and obnoxious. I watch his gaze shift from me to Eva and back again, the confusion spreading across his face. I make sure to stand in his line of sight, ensuring his attention stays on me.
"Is there something I can assist you with?" I ask, my tone measured. "Mrs. Orlov and I were discussing an excursion for tomorrow's classes, so unless it's important..." My eyes flash with veiled threat.
Theodore bristles, clearly unnerved. "I just came to speak with my wife," he says, though his glare betrays him. His tone carries no authority, only a pitiful attempt at dominance. He turns his anger toward Eva, his eyes burning with something akin to desperation.
You poor, wretched creature, I think to myself, barely keeping the smirk from my lips. You don't even realize how far you've fallen.
I step closer to him, my posture calm, predatory. "I don't believe your wife wishes to speak with you, Mr. Orlov. Perhaps it's best you leave."
He scoffs, attempting a show of bravado. "With all due respect, Mr... Riddle, I didn't ask for your permission. Now, if you'd kindly leave us alone—"
The nerve. He gestures as though dismissing a child. Amusing.
I take another step closer, making sure he feels the weight of my presence. "I don't recall sharing my name with you, Mr. Orlov," I say softly, my voice dropping to a dangerous register. "And I suggest you do not test my patience. You may not enjoy the consequences."
Before he can respond, I feel a soft touch on my shoulder. Eva, standing behind me, tries to de-escalate the situation, but it's too late. Her husband, pathetic as he is, pulls his wand on me, his hand shaking.
I can't help but chuckle. "You're really going to try that?" I ask, stepping forward, unfazed. "You're as foolish as you are insignificant."
He stammers something, his words slurred by fear, but I'm already bored. With a casual flick of my wrist, I send his wand flying from his hand, and before he can react, I close the distance between us, my voice a soft, dangerous whisper.
"You have failed, Mr. Orlov. As a husband. As a wizard. As a man."
I allow the silence to weigh on him before continuing, my tone like venom. "Your marriage is over. Now, leave. Trust me, it's the best decision you'll make tonight."
His face flushes with anger, but I don't give him time to respond. My wand is already out, and with a swift, subtle movement, I send him tumbling backward through the doorway, landing unceremoniously on the floor.
