Gray...

Bright lights and a gray ceiling, that's what I saw when I woke up. Nothing dark, no barren mining cavern, a fuzzy gray ceiling.

I blinked a few times, my vision clearing slowly. I noticed the warmth beneath me and carefully felt around. The mattress was comforting, I had never felt something like it before. Just the hard thin mattresses back in the Anchorage Shatterdome, or the far too soft seats in the truck.

The truck! I burst up, looking around for the silver vehicle, only to find myself face to face with a woman, her hand was ready to reach out and grab the gurney. She jumped and I slid back on the gurney, ignoring the ache in my head, "Get back!" I shouted, my eyes racing to look at her hands for any sort of syringe. Only to find them empty.

Pressing my flesh hand to the side of my head, trying to suppress the ache in my head, I stared around the large room I was in. It was large, and to my right was a rather interesting glass cylinder, containing something which looked like it was used to hold something up. There was also a glowing green monitor nearby, with a bunch of random symbols on it. The yellow stairs caught my eye, as well as the large pillar, which looked similar to that of an elevator. There would be no other reason for a solid pillar of concrete of that size to be in the middle of a room. Across the room were two metal platforms which looked almost like beds.

"Easy Koda."

I looked back at the woman, she was wearing green scrubs, that seemed like a good sign. Nothing close to the PPDC's usual dark attire. Sliding off of the gurney I felt a pain shoot through my head, and I groaned, reaching out to grab onto the bed's railing to stay up right. A moment passed before I glanced back up at the nurse, "Where am I? How do you know my name?" I demanded, then I realized something else, "Where's Sebastain?!"

"You are safe," A new voice echoed through the large room. I shuddered as the ground shook slightly. My eyes darted to the left side of the room, finding that it was much larger than I had expected. A Jaeger could fit in here no problem. Around the corner I watched a white and redish orange robot step into the room.

"This is some sort of dream isn't it?" I asked, confused. Though the ache in my head seemed to tell me otherwise. But this couldn't be right, the robot looked alive. His movements were a bit slow however, and he looked tired; however that might work. Was he old? Maybe...

"No, this is very real Koda. I am Ratchet," He introduced, and gestured to the nurse who'd take a few steps away from me, "This is June Darby, she works at the nearby hospital as a nurse. She helped tend to our injuries after you were recovered earlier this evening."

"Darby?" I questioned.

Ratchet nodded, "You are in our base, about a half hour's drive from Jasper, Nevada. Nurse Darby's son, Jack along with Miko and Raf know of our existence."
