She flinched when the bride slapped him. "How dare you not chase after her!" She scolded.

Ophelia hesitated, wanting to go back and get him, but she didn't have the time or power. So, she ran.

Ophelia got to the Mystery Shop and found a stunned audience. She tried to catch her breath as she stared at the hologram that was showing what exactly was happening in the cafeteria.

"How'd Floyd know that would work?" Deuce asked.

She didn't have an immediate answer, thinking over all the fairytales she could remember. There was something just as cringy as the rest of the situation. "I'm sure the ghost has some sort of loophole in her magic, like true love's first kiss or something," Ophelia said as she tried to catch her breath.

"Floyd's in love with you?!"

She looked at the collected student body, all stunned or horrified by the thought. "No, Floyd's not in love with me...At least, I don't think he is. He must have figured it out."

"Jade's up," Azul said.

"Jade Leech, at your service. Do be gentle with me," Jade said with a kind smile.

"Jade, you're the last one in the game! It's all riding on you!" Jack said.

"Would you accept a gift to commemorate our meeting?" Jade asked as he produced a white flower.

"My, what a lovely flower. Is it for me?"

"But of course, Your Highness. Handpicked by yours truly. I saw it and thought of you."

"He brought her a present?!" Sebek exclaimed.

"Why, how thoughtful! I'm positively thrilled. Goodness, I believe my heart's all aflutter."

"Is this actually working?" Trey asked.

Floyd scoffed, "Whatever, Jade. Isn't that the same flower you dug up in the mountains? The uber poisonous one? You're just dumpin' on her 'cuz you can't plant it anywhere else."

Jade was absolutely giddy to talk about the details of the flower, "Correct. It's a highly toxic flower that would ruin any other plants it was planted near. Normally a person's hand would break out if they so much as touched it, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on ghosts. I've learned something new today."

"ARE YOU MAD?!" Eliza slapped Jade harder than anyone else.

"That hurt, Your Highness!" Jade exclaimed, shocked from the rejection or the pain.

"He might have succeeded but for Floyd's big mouth," Vil said.

"Look, I just didn't like the idea of him sittin' pretty while I'm stuck in slapsville," Floyd grumbled bitterly.

Jack groaned, "Then it's a total defeat."

"What rude louts you are. Not a one anywhere near prince material!" The ghost scolded.

"Something's just occurred to me," Trey spoke up. "Not to state the obvious or anything...But we're a bunch of students at an all-boys school. Yet we were supposed to propose to royalty? Isn't this whole challenge completely out of our league?"

There was hesitation before all of them said, "Yeah, actually."

"I didn't expect Team Tall to get wiped out so quickly," the Headmage said dismally. "However, it seems we've got an expert in our presence to coach those of you remaining on how to propose to the princess."

Riddle was laughing, "Did you see how Floyd goaded the ghost into slapping him? Zero hesitation. Let that be a lesson: It is folly to pick bridal candidates solely based on height!"
