Ophelia was grateful time had stayed frozen while they were partying in the Spectral Realm. She barely made it to Ramshackle, and again, didn't make it up the stairs, collapsing on the couch with Grim sleeping on her chest.
She barely felt rested when someone knocked on the door then entered. "HUMAN! IT IS TIME TO CLEAN!" Sebek yelled so loudly part of the ceiling paint chipped off.
"Fine...okay..." she groaned as she sat up.
With sleeping Grim still in her arms, she made her way to her room and dropped the cat on the bed before taking a shower and getting dressed in her school uniform.
"Man, a skirt feels weird after all that," she yawned. "Cmon, Grim. It's time to clean."
The cat grumbled.
She crossed her arms over her chest, "I heard the kitchen is going to have a larger breakfast selection after yesterday's party. Some of that left over fish you liked might be available."
The cat was awake in an instant and let Ophelia give him a quick scrub before they started to take down Ramshackle's decorations.
When she stepped outside, she took a deep breath of autumn air and frowned, "It's getting cold already. This island must be more north than I thought." She pouted a bit at the empty yard, "Awh, Diasomnia already took down their dragon." Her eyes caught a distant black cloud. "Seems the storms are coming. We got lucky that Halloween was clear weather all week."
"That does tend to be the case," Lilia said as he appeared in front of her. "You should invest in an umbrella. It rains a lot in November."
Ophelia looked down at Grim, "Guess I'll be carrying you a lot more."
Grim smirked, "You should be honored to carry Grim the Mighty!"
She gave him a flat look, "The same way I carry our grades?"
"Let's get breakfast!" Grim cheered.
She chuckled as she followed him to the school cafeteria. After breakfast, they headed to Crewel's class where an unexpected dose of reality was dropped on them.
"Now that Halloween Week is over, it's time to start preparing for exams!"
Everyone groaned.
The rest of the day was much the same. Ophelia was confident in every class, except Vargas since she relied fully on Grim. That was the only class she couldn't control anything Grim did.
"Yo, Shrimpy!" Floyd greeted as she headed toward the Mystery Shop. He gave her a sly smile, "Whatcha doin'?"
"I'm...buying an umbrella, rain jacket, and rain boots." The disappointment on his face was obvious. "Did I miss something?"
He glared as he crossed his arms, "How'd you forget?"
"I've been a little busy. Halloween put us all through the wringer."
His glare didn't let up as they entered the Mystery Shop, "You really forgot my birthday?"
She looked at him, searching every memory she could for that piece of information. "Floyd, no one's mentioned any birthdays to me."
He frowned a bit, "Really? I told everyone to tell you."
She gave him a flat look, "Why didn't you tell me? I was in Octavinelle all week."
"I thought you knew."
She sighed, "Alright, birthday for Floyd means birthday for Jade. Guess I'll be working on that. When is it?"
He smiled, "November 5."
Her jaw dropped, "That is not enough time for me to do anything."
"Do anything?"
