As we talked, I realized that Kia was right - I was in a difficult situation, and I needed to be careful. I promised to keep her updated on any developments and hung up the phone, feeling a sense of gratitude towards my friend.
I went back to everyone.
"Our daughter wants to talk to Rudra," Dad told them as they nodded and gestured Rudra to come with me in the corner.
"Ahmm Hey!" I said thinking how to start convo.
"Hey, I want to tell you something. I have a girlfriend but my parents aren't listening to me and forcing me in this marriage."
"We can find some way to cancel this marriage," I told him.
"Are you sure?" He asked me as I nodded.
"I will try to find a way if I can,"
We talked for few minutes and then walked back towards everyone. They left after sometime and I walked towards my room.
I took a relaxing shower, trying to calm my nerves, and then drifted off to sleep. The next morning, I woke up early, feeling a sense of determination. I got ready quickly, wearing a light green anarkali dress with intricate embroidery and pairing it with green jhumkas.
I headed to the hospital, feeling a sense of purpose, and then planned to meet my family at the temple. Little did I know that the day ahead would bring its own set of challenges and surprises.
I jogged downstairs, eager to start my day, and drove to the hospital.
As I parked my car, I noticed a group of people gossiping and staring at me. Ignoring them, I walked into the hospital, where I met up with Kia. She greeted me with a warm smile and a playful comment, "Someone's looking pretty today." I teased her back, "I always look pretty, my dear bestie."
Kia chuckled and expressed her excitement about meeting my soon-to-be husband, Rudra. I playfully teased her, "I thought you were excited to meet Mr. Revansh." Kia's eyes sparkled with amusement, and she replied, "Well, you know me better than myself." After a few hours of work, we headed to the temple together. As we arrived, Kia went inside first, while I stopped outside to take a call from my brother. We discussed the recent developments, and he was initially angry with our parents, but eventually, he understood their perspective.
I then joined the others inside the temple, where everyone was seated in a circle around a sacred fire pit. Pandit ji was preparing for the puja, and Rian was sitting on his father's lap. As soon as he saw me, he ran towards me, eager for a hug. I was struck by the strong bond we had formed in just two meetings. He looked adorable in his small kurta and pajama.
As I sat down beside Kia, Rian snuggled into my lap, and I couldn't help but smile at everyone. My eyes met Revansh's, and I felt a flutter in my chest. He was staring at me intensely, his gaze burning with an inner fire. I looked away, trying to compose myself. Rian whispered in my ear, "Mommy."
I was taken aback, feeling a strange sensation at being called "mommy" by this little boy. I whispered back, "Rian, I'm your chachi, not mommy."
He replied, "Chachi is like mommy, and it's an old-type name."
I was charmed by his logic, but I knew I had to correct him. I told him that his father might not approve of him calling me "mommy." Rian simply smiled and said, "He won't." I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation.
