I just landed in Australia as I excitedly drove to my girlfriend's apartment. The apartment is the one I bought for her so that we can always have a place to crash. I will surprise her as this is our anniversary and I will now ask her to marry me. I know that she's the one whom I want to spend the rest of my life with and in fact, I already built us a house and that is another surprise for her.
I parked in front of the building and I entered the elevator. I have a spare key so I won't bother her to open the door. When I got in front of her door, I slowly opened it expecting to see her on the couch, watching TV but instead, I saw some shoes I know are not mine, scattered clothes on the floor and sound coming from the bedroom. I convinced myself that maybe she had a drunk friend over but the moment I am standing by the door, I heard my whole world collapse.
"So, when will that Benjamin guy propose huh? I mean, I can just see it you know. If he proposed, make sure to make him spend his money on you. . Make him buy you a yacht, a plane . . and then ask him for a lot of money. . . I already have our life planned" - the guy
"No need to worry . . . I got him wrapped around my finger. I will keep him while he still got those endless zeros in his bank account. Once we empty those, then it's game over. . " - my girlfriend
That is enough for me and the more I look around the apartment, the more it became clear to me what really is my role in her life. She never had a job, is always asking me for money and is always asking me to buy her things like cars, apartment and even furnitures. She's using me to finance her life with her man, which means she really didn't love me and is such a great actress that she managed to pull it off.
However, some part of me wanted to hear her explanation so I just grabbed the TV that was placed on the table and smashed it on the ground. I heard their reactions from the room and the other man's voice echoed around the apartment.
The two of them stepped out with bath robes on and the moment she met my eyes, I clearly can tell that she's making up alibis.
"Explain"
Well, she didn't give me any explanation and instead, she just shrugged and went to her man.
"I don't need to explain things to you . . . you're smart, I think you have it figured out . ."
I felt so defeated but I cannot show them I am affected so I just smiled and look around the house and then I realized, I bought everything here.
So I marched into the kitchen, took the microwave and smashed it on the floor. I tore off the fridge door while they are screaming at me like lunatics. I smashed the oven and the coffee maker. I then got a knife and went to the living room before slashing the couch and the carpet. They cannot do anything but scream names at me. After that, I marched out the building, into my car.
I opened my phone and dialed the police station.
"Hey, uhm, there's a couple fighting in the Kingston building, apartment 14. I think things broke, you should check it out"
She knew very well that if she will report me to the police, she will be at loss so I don't feel scared that I might get arrested. Plus, those things I destroyed are mine anyway.
When I drove away from that area, I parked at a parking spot before the tears I suppressed began to pour out like waterfalls. I am so stupidly blind that I didn't see all the clues. I let myself become their ATM.
I wasn't loved.
And I am so frustrated that I don't know what to do, I hate this feeling. It feels like dying after a nightmare.
