Just like in your dream, Chisaki appeared utterly disgusted that you were so close to him. His golden eyes blew wide open once you wrapped your arms around him, and he brutally slammed you against the wall to try and make you let go.
"Don't touch me!" he hissed, but given how dire the situation was, you had no choice but to touch him. Even though it was very much against your will, you'd been given yet another opportunity to take him down. You had no idea what kind of Quirk he had or how it worked, so your only hope of defeating him was to strike first and put him under your control.
He was manhandling you with ease, clearly much more physically adept than you were, but the whole time you screamed at him and fought back, using your Quirk to try and put him in a trance, you noticed that he made several attempts to pull his gloves off. Something told you that once he pulled those gloves off, you were absolutely and completely done for.
I can't let him.
Just like before, your Quirk was failing to immobilize him, and you were starting to take considerable damage from how forcefully he kept slamming you into the wall. You saw him reaching down to remove his gloves once again, and in that brief moment of distraction, you mustered up all the strength you had left and ripped the mask off his face.
Then, you slammed your lips against his.
You could tell that Chisaki was taken aback, because his breath hitched in his throat. Just like when you'd kissed Shinsou during the Sports Festival, and even when you'd kissed Shouto before to use your Quirk to its fullest extent against Aizawa, you channeled everything you possibly had into your target. You flooded Chisaki with passion and overwhelming emotion, and it finally seemed to be working, because for the first time, he was frozen in place.
Your body was starting to burn up. You'd never used this much energy all in one sitting before, and on one person, no less. But you could tell that it was all or nothing. If you could successfully incapacitate him and make him answer for whatever horrible things he was putting Eri through, then it meant that you'd actually saved someone's life.
Not only that, though. If you didn't succeed right here and now, it was your life that would be on the line.
Chisaki's cheeks were flushed, partly from what you could only assume was embarrassment and the effects of your Quirk, but you could also see that hives were now covering most of his skin. He seemed to loathe being touched. Being kissed must have been one of the worst things he could possibly imagine.
Not that you felt any sympathy for him, though. It was painfully obvious that he wasn't a good guy.
You deepened the kiss, using every last reserve of strength that you had. It was actually making you feel incredibly lightheaded, because he was so resistant to the effects of your powers. At least he wasn't struggling anymore. It was only a matter of time now. Only a matter of time before he passed out and you could bring him back to Sir Nighteye.
And then, you felt him twitch.
For just a moment, Chisaki managed to regain his lucidity, and he hastily pulled off one of his gloves.
What followed was the most intense pain you'd ever experienced in your life. One of Chisaki's fingers just barely grazed your arm, and just like that, it exploded into bits. You cried out from the sheer horror of it all, disbelieving as you looked down and found jagged bone and bloody flesh in place of where your forearm had been.
Tears spilled down your cheeks, and you let out a howl like never before. Dark red fluid was spilling everywhere. You were losing blood at an unforeseen speed, and the realization that you might not survive this was invading every inch of your brain. The most you could do was hold onto Chisaki with the arm you still had intact, desperately trying to immobilize him one more time.
He gritted his teeth and violently shook you off. "Filthy girl," he spat, wiping a hand across his mouth. "How dare you try to pull your tricks on me. I could put you back to normal, did you know that? If I wanted to, I could fix you up in less than a second, but I won't. I know exactly what you were trying to do the last time we met. You wanted to use your powers and take Eri from me. But I won't allow it. You're diseased like everyone else, so you don't understand just how necessary Eri is. You have only yourself to blame for trying to stand in my way."
He can... fix me?
By now, you were barely conscious. Every time you inhaled, you could feel the world becoming darker. It was all getting blurrier by the second, and even your hearing was failing you. As much as you wanted to plead for Chisaki to fix you, like he'd said he could, you couldn't seem to form the words. You were slowly becoming numb, and so, so cold.
Chisaki just stared down at you, watched you gasp for breath with those beautifully cruel golden eyes of his. He had an incredibly handsome face, even more so than you'd been expecting. You almost wanted to laugh over the fact that you were choosing to take note of that right now, while you were in the middle of dying.
"It'd be troublesome if someone found your body," he mumbled, crouching down beside you. As a last-ditch effort, you reached for him and just barely managed to whisper another command, but unsurprisingly, it didn't work.
The last thing you saw was Chisaki's ungloved hand descending upon you from above.
"It isn't my fault," he muttered. "I hate doing this. It's everyone else's fault for being sick."
You felt that same pain again-as if all the nerves and muscles in your body were being stretched out and ripped up all at once-and then, there was nothing.
You were dead.
When your eyes opened, you couldn't be sure if what had just happened was all a dream, or whether you'd made it into the afterlife.
A gasp left your lips, and you shot up, desperately trying to make sense of your surroundings. Everything here was dark. It was so dark, in fact, that you could hardly tell what you were even looking at.
But ever so slowly, the darkness began clearing, and a pretty chuckle soon made itself known.
Huh? But, that girl...
It was the girl you'd met on campus before. The one who'd given you those pomegranate seeds at random. What the hell was going on? Was this really a dream? You just didn't understand. And worse of all, you still clearly felt the pain that Chisaki had inflicted upon you, despite the fact that your body appeared to be unharmed.
Persephone leaned forward, grinning widely. "Welcome to the underworld, [Name]."
