I slowly moved towards a pulled closed curtain on the right side of the hallway and pushed myself to the wall next to it. Brown haired guy had followed me passing the woman to the Arian guy, the rest waiting around on lookout in the hall. He understood what i was doing, thankfully, and stayed on the other side of the curtain, while i took a peek inside.
"They're guards inside. At least seven of them. Think you can deal with a pair for me?" I asked in a whisper.
"How? Maybe. What about the rest?" he asked.
I shrugged, "Your Teresa is in there. Figure it out. I'll deal with the others - but i don't have too many shots left in this thing."
Reaching into my back pocket, i pulled out a gun, waving it in his direction before cocking it.
"How did you-"
"Took it."
"Are you sure you can-"
"Yes. Let's go."
Without any more warning, worried nerves would take over if we spent much more time outside thinking over a plan, i slipped into the room from one side, hoping the boy next to me would have enough sense to act fast. Two of the men inside had already been shot before the others even noticed we were inside - the sound of their bodies hitting the ground alerting the other guards too late. I had taken another down before a single sound had been made.
The brown haired boy was still struggling with the first guy - thankfully, a pale girl with bright blue eyes and hair a similar shade to mine picked up a long can of some sorts from a table next to her - smashing it over the fifth guys head, knocking him out cold. Unfortunately, before I had had the time to get a decent aim on the last guard, he fired a round of shots in my general direction.
Dodging wasn't an option as bullets sprayed the wall around me, so I ducked down, but not before hissing in pain as one of the metal killers hit my shoulder. Only then did the boy tackle him to the ground.
"Move!" I yelled, holding my gun up with shaking hands.
"Thomas! Get out of the way!" Teresa cried, looking at me in fear. So attention seeker was Thomas! Made sense, he seemed more than willing to charge into a fight, i'd give him that.
Acting quickly, Thomas jumped to a side and i took the shot. The guard stopped moving after one last strangled gasp.
"C'mon, get bloody moving already! We don't have time to waste - Aris'll be waiting." I snapped, bringing the two in the room back to focus.
The three of us walked out of the room, quick to get the others moving. There were shots ricocheting everywhere now - the ringing dizzying as we dodged and weaved to our best abilities.
"Turn right, Thomas!" I order, remembering Aris pointing the exit out to me one time when we were being lead down this hall.
"Cool! We found our way out! Now how the shuck do we get this door open?" The tall Asian boy said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"Don't worry - I got a keycard." Thomas says breathlessly.
Our group paused at the door as Thomas ran over to the door, trying desperately to get the card working. As soon as we stopped moving, a dozen WICKED were there - blocking off any chance we had of doubling back. Janson stood in the center. Holding my gun in his direction, I empty the bullets into whoever i can - managing to send at least four guards to the ground, but Janson still stood, his disgusting smirk etched onto his face.
"You can't go anywhere. Give up." he tries, but at that very moment the door behind us hisses open and i can only guess Aris is standing there.
"Oh really? Well - i'm sorry to disappoint you, but i think we can." I said with a small forced smile as the others behind me start running through the open doors. Before I join them though, I lurch forward towards one of the fallen guards - flinging my gun as hard as i could at Janson's face while simultaneously grabbing a new one off the ground and sprinting a bit ahead of Thomas towards the open door.
The boy behind me just about managed to get through the closing door, Janson seething on the other side - clutching his face with one hand. But before anyone on the other side can even try to get the doors back open, Aris yanks something off of the wall - seemingly rendering the door useless, our group safely outside.
Walking back to the door, I simply flip him off, not bothering to stick around to see his reaction as everyone starts moving away.
