(A short message before we start off... I wanted to write for Wuwa but was unsure, wanting to wait for more story updates, but the fics of two authors of ao3 made me go, "fuck it," and write a fic for the bodyguard lady that I love... It is partly inspired by both of their fics now that I reread what I wrote, but I didn't mean it as a rip-off; their ideas just coincide with what I wanted in my fic, and I wasn't going to change it, so yeah.
Anyhow... in the game, Sanhua says, word for word, that her eyes can see frequencies, or at least that's the only thing she can see... This led to the headcanon that she meant that 100% literally, and other than frequencies, she is mostly blind, so I deal with it, even if I know that in the story, she is asked to do paperwork while Jinhsi is away sssh.
This was written like the week after Wuthering Waves was released and arcs up to the Threnodian, so whatever happens after it will not be taken into account when it comes out.
AND WARNING, MENTIONING THINGS THAT ONLY HAPPENED AT THE END OF THE CURRENTLY PLAYABLE STORY ARC)
Life in Jinzhou was not easy... Not that anyone would say it ever indeed was.
Being the border city and the central hub of operations against the Tacet Discord outbreaks was not a piece of cake. Whoever lived in the town knew that if the city fell, not only would they be in danger but everyone else, placing a weight on everyone's shoulders, a weight few truly ever realized was there.
But it was there.
Distorting frequencies, muddling lines, and knotting wishes of the people... It is unsurprising that, from a young age, a little girl who could only see frequencies had chosen not to mingle with such masses, preferring a lonesome life to the twisted sights of such frequencies.
Growing up, nothing changed; learning personalities, lies, truths, and actions all shaped someone's frequencies, smoothing them out or twisting them.
Once again, it was not a surprise such a woman was a useful soldier since TDs are also made of frequencies. Frequencies filled the world, so despite being unable to see like other humans, she was not truly blind to the world.
Seeing the sparking of the frequencies in a tacet field waking up while others couldn't tell until the TD rose from it and more, the world was filled with frequencies, so she could easily hide her different vision from others.
A third none-surprise was when that teen was chosen as the new magistrate; this lonesome woman was selected as the new bodyguard. She took the job out of duty but stayed out of loyalty.
No one had ever been so... Real... Looking like they were supposed to be in the frequencies... She looked like herself.
And so, she made the choice to fully devote herself, so that this truth could shine for many years to come and lead Jinzhou to prosperity.

"You seem distracted Sanhua." A slightly amused voice came from her right, as if the person making that statement already knew all that was to know but still decided to speak up.
"Madame magistrate, what are you doing here? You should be leading the evacuations." Sanhua should have known she'd refuse to leave even if it would have been her role to lead people away and escape.
