Freen's POV

The world felt like it was drifting, suspended in a fog of pain and confusion. Slowly, I became aware of my surroundings, I can smell the sterile scent of the hospital. My body felt heavy. As I tried to focus, I heard a voice—muffled at first, then clearer, sharper.

“Why are you just lying there?”

Becky. Her voice, trembling with a mix of anger and sorrow. My heart ached at the sound of her voice, the familiar tone that once brought me so much comfort now laced with pain. I wanted to reach out, to tell her everything, to explain, but my body wouldn't cooperate yet. I was trapped in this half-awake state, helpless.

"You still owe me an explanation, don't you?"

"I'm still mad at you, Freen. Get up and face your mistakes!"

Her words pierced me, each one a reminder of the pain I had caused. I struggled to move, to speak, but it was as if my body had forgotten how. Desperation clawed at me, a frantic need to reach her, to make her understand.

"You said we will graduate together with Nam, Heng, and Billy. We were supposed to graduate together...so get up!"

The weight of her expectations and disappointment felt like an anchor dragging me down. Tears welled up as I struggled to wake up, desperate to prove to her that I was still here, still willing to fight.

Amidst the turmoil, I heard Nam's comforting words to Becky, followed by a heavy silence.

Then I heard Becky's voice, softer now, carries a mixture of hurt and love.

"Take care of her," she whispered to Nam, her words haunting the space between us as she walked away.

'She couldn't leave, not like this' my thought as I panicked.

Summoning every ounce of strength, I forced my eyes open, searching desperately for her.

"Becky..." My voice was barely a whisper, fragile and weak.

She paused when she heard me. For a fleeting moment, hope flickered in my chest, but then  she continued walking, leaving me behind without looking back.

My heart shattered as tears streamed down my cheeks. I knew I had to find a way to make things right, to bridge the gap that had formed between us.

"Freen," Nam's voice, as she approached and gently wiped the tears from my eyes. Heng and Billy stood beside my bed, their expressions a mixture of relief and concern.

"We're so relieved you woke up" Heng's voice cracked slightly as he gave me a warm smile.

"Graduation is approaching, Freen. You need to gather all the strength to get through this" Billy said encouraging me.

"Freen, why didn't you tell us?" Nam asked, her voice trembling as she tightly held my hand.

"I'm sorry for causing you all this worry," I whispered, my voice heavy with guilt and sadness.

"Freen?" Tita Susan's voice broke through the moment as she rushed into the room. Tears streamed down her face as she enveloped me in a tight embrace.

"Don’t cry, Tita. I'm awake now," I reassured her, my own tears threatening to spill over.

I felt guilty, particularly aware of the distress I caused them, especially to Becky.

"Freen, why didn’t you take your medication? Why didn’t you confide in me?" Tita Susan said as she let go of me from her hug.
