Amais woke with a start. It had been about an hour since they left the bazaar— erm... mall, and he was exhausted. Usually killing never tired him out this quickly, but the lack of mana in the air must have been attributing to his drowsiness. He would have to visit his hoard soon and take a nice, short nap. A day or two should have him refreshed.
The dragon opened his eyes to see Cane already gone and Marc gently rubbed his muzzle, getting him to stir. Normally he would be amiss about the physical touch, claiming lower beings were not allowed to touch upon his greatness, but he thought of Marc differently ever since the mall. Especially when he'd jumped into battle, just to aid the dragon.
Not that he would have had trouble with them in any regard. But knowing how foreign battle was to these creatures was a nice sentiment.
"Hey, wake up." He said. "We're here."
Amais grumbled and shifted around in his space to exit the van. His weight had caused a dent in the car, and he didn't miss the wince of pain in Marc's gaze as he forced his way out with a cartoonish pop. The dragon let out a loud burp, and held his hand to his belly in pleasure.
He didn't remember the last time he had imp meat, truly a delicacy among dragons. So rich with fat and so flavorful with mana, it was a delight to the stomach. He usually didn't get a chance to eat this much either, due to his size, but he was well and truly stuffed.
Looking out at his surroundings as he walked with Marc towards his tiny house, all he saw was an endless field of grass and a dirt road that stretched into the horizon. It reminded him greatly of his home and he smiled slightly in familiarity as he looked out at the endless plains.
Marc pulled him with his hand, speaking quietly as not to disturb the peace. "This is my house. Try not to make too much noise. My Ma is on vacation, but the neighbors will freak if they find out I brought someone home without her permission. They're super old timey."
Amais cocked his head. He didn't even get a chance to speak before Marc held his hand up. "I know you don't know what that means but just, try not to yell or anything, please."
The dragon nodded slowly.
They made their way up onto the porch and Amais looked precariously at the small door before Marc walked in first, waving his hand before realizing the problem.
That was going to be an incredibly difficult fit, Amais thought and put his head through the small wooden doorway. It probably wouldn't be very hard to get into the doorway considering his strength, but it would be difficult to do so without making a lot of noise.
Amais turned sideways in the doorway and squeezed his chest and arms through, then he turned back until he was parallel with the ground and grunted in pain as he shoved his stuffed belly through, letting out a loud belch in the process. Then were his legs which he did easily enough. The dragon groaned and stood up, his head hitting the ceiling as he tried to stand to his full height, failing miserably.
Marc just laughed. "We won't be here for long, don't worry. We're gonna spend the night and then we'll move over to Cane's place, which is much bigger."
The dragon nodded and he was led upstairs, and after squeezing through a few more doorways he was suddenly led into a white room with shiny objects inside. One looked like a single latrine, and the other a tub, except it wasn't a bucket or barrel, but a nice white box.
Amais cocked his head at it before Marc pointed at it. "Before you do anything, you're taking a shower so you don't get blood on anything. I'm already sure you tracked some throughout the house." He chastised.
Amais wanted to correct him on his tone, but he was too interested in the shower. Marc turned the water on and with a loud rattle it began raining in the small tub. No., it was not raining, it was pouring water through the tube at the top.
