"Aloo" I saw her and ran towards her. She was sitting on her bed in her room. My eyes filled with tears as I saw her like this. Her hands were a bit bruised and so were bandaged, dark circles under her eyes and she was looking too weak.

She smiled at me weakly spreading her arms for me to hug her. "Tu thik hai na," I asked as I hugged her.

"Main toh theek hoon but baby ki maasi thik nhi lag rahi" she asked me in return.

"Nahi... it's nothing like that. I'm fine" I answered.

"Yeah that's why someone was on the hospital bed the other day" Rudra scoffed leaning against the door. Aayansh Jiju smacked him on his head.

Alaya started laughing at his not-so-interesting joke and I squinted my eyes at her. Little Miss must've forgotten that I've been her best friend since childhood and not some other tall devil.

"Tu na... isse hi baat kar. Don't talk to me. I'm going" I said stomping my foot ready to leave.

"Arey arey saali sahiba, both of you stay here, I'll take this shit with me," Aayansh Jiju said. He just addressed Rudra as 'shit'.

"Chal be chu.." Before he could complete the sentence, Jiju dragged him away and closed the door.

Now I turned back again to my best friend who was enjoying this free stand-up comedy show.

"Ho gaya tera" I asked her

"Mera toh ho gaya. That is why I'm pregnant after all" she flipped her hair.

"Tu Bata Tera Kab shuru hoga" The urge to throw the nearest pillow on her face suddenly built in my mind as I heard her statement.

As said before, she doesn't have any filter fixed in her mouth.

"I don't know anything about that. Let's change the topic" I said before she starts digging in more.

"I think he is falling for you" she uttered after a short break.

"This might be the side effects of the medicines you are taking" I replied.

She gave me a smirk in return. There's no way Rudra would fall for me. Like c'mon, I'm not his type. Who will like a person like me? My family stays away from me because they think about me as a loser. Even he himself thinks about me as a gold digger.

Alaya doesn't know the full thing, nor do I want her to know because then she will blurt everything out to Jiju and then Jiju will do god knows what with Rudra.

And so the cycle will again come back to me as then Rudra will think about me as a sympathy gainer.

"He won't fall for me. We are different. Our mindset is different and it's complicated" I try to make her understand.

"Still I've seen the way he looks at you while you do anything" she stated with dreamy eyes.

"And how does he look at me" I asked her holding my face in my hand while keeping my elbow on my leg as I sat on the bed.
