An Icy Heart (hiccup x reader)

"Hiccup! Oh my Thor I thought I was going to get taken back!" Y/n said as they raced away atop Azure.
"Taken back where? Who was that guy?" Hiccup asked with worry
"Oh it doesn't matter and his name was Kradê or something, how did you find me?" Y/n asked, changing the subject
"Azure was running around the village frantically roaring and found me, before I even knew it he was dragging me away and had thrown me on his back" Hiccup laughed despite the seurousness of what had happened
"What can I say, he is presistent" Y/n laughed aswell as she patted her dragons side "and I must say, for a guy who flies with a saddle you're not too bad" she laughed again causing Hiccup to laugh aswell "why thank you. But honestly what was that guys issue" he then became serious.
Y/n sighed "azure buddy land down there" she taped her dragon and pointed to an island as Hiccup just sat confused.

They landed, sat down and Y/n began to explain "okay I guess it's time you knew my real history. I grew up on a small island outside the arcapelego and my father was the chief, however only males can be chiefs there and I never had a brother so they married me off.. firstly it was to an okay guy but soon enough war started because of my family's power and status and so Drago took me and held me as his captive.  I found Azure during the war and Drago took him aswell for his 'dragon army' but before he could manage that I escaped and saved about 20 or so dragons. We didn't have anywhere to go until your mum found me but after a year or so I left to explore. Then I found you and that's pretty much it - shortened anyway" Y/n felt tears prick her eyes but she didn't dare let them escape.
Hiccup looked at her with sympathy and pure sadness "oh Y/n I'm so sorry.." he hugged her and she accepted it. She didn't know why but she just needed it.

They flew back to Berk and went into the Haddock's household which was empty apart from Toothless who covered both Vikings in slobber
"Toothless eww!"
"You know that doesn't wash out!"
They laughed as both dragons danced about them like little puppies
"Okay guys stop before the paintings come off the walls" Y/n laughed as she scratched each of them under the chin.
After the dragons had ate their fish and went upstairs Y/n and Hiccup ate their own food in comfortable silence
"Thank you Hiccup" Y/n said out of seemingly nowhere
"For what?" Hiccup chuckled
"Just everything" Y/n smiled softly but before her or Hiccup could say anything else Stoick and Valka came bursting through the doors
"Son we need you out there! There is people attacking!" Stoick yelled as he entered before going to get something
"Mum what's going on?" Hiccup frantically asked as Valka searched for something
"We don't know, a young boy called Kradê said something about taking what is rightfully his tribes back" Valka said with a shake of her head
"Val this is my fault, he's here for me.." Y/n said as panic overtook her
"Then Y/n me and you are going to hide at the other side of the island. I won't let that mad man take you" Valka said as she walked towards Y/n, by this time Stoick had returned and heard the whole conversation and Hiccup had ran up to his room.
Stoick stared at Y/n "he won't get you lass, go hide with Valka-"
Before he could finish Y/n cut in "sorry chief but I need to fight my own battles, I'm coming to help"
Stoick smiled and nodded proudly before running out the door and jumping on his dragon as Valka done the same.

Y/n got Azure and took off towards Kradê who was hovering above the village on his dragon whilst he smirked at his success so far
"Kradê!" Y/n yelled as she soared over to him
"Ah Y/n, I was wondering when you'd come out, you giving up yet?" He grinned
Y/n shook her head violently as Azure growled "I will never go back to that place! How could you think what they let me go through was right?!" She was breathing heavily and too focused on the Viking in front of her to realise the one coming up behind with a net
"Y/n watch out!" Astrid yelled out of nowhere but it was too late, Y/n was falling down 100s of feet and Azure wasn't going to catch her in time.
She let herself fall as her life flashed before her, a live she hadn't even got to live.
People called out to her but she could hardly hear them over the roars of battle that she was plummeting towards. She waited for impact but it never came
"I knew I'd get you" Kradê smirked at her as she lay in his arms
"Not for long" Y/n smirked and punched him in the face, knocking him out. He fell and nearly took Y/n down with him but Y/n held on to Bregele "remember me?" She said softly to the dragon who cooed lowly.
She got Kradê's dragon Bregele to set her on the ground next to Azure, who was surrounded by Vikings.
Y/n rushed in, swinging her flameing sword and sliced as many as she could out of anger before going to her dragon and cutting the ropes that held him captive
"You're okay buddy, you're okay"she said as a small tear formed.
She was quickly up and in the air again once she checked Azure for injures.
Berk was winning and many Asurer warriors were fleeing in ships or on dragons. Y/n looked around for Kradê or Bregele but couldn't seem to find either of them, not even were he would of fell so she assumed they also fled, she just hoped her old tribe at least took care of their dragons since they never used to when she lived there.
A voice suddenly broke her out her thoughts "Y/n! Are you okay?!" Astrid came over shouting.
"Yeah I'm fine and so is Asure" Y/n smiled, she wasn't exactly friends with Astrid but the girl was nice.
"I'm sorry I didn't warn you in time, I did try" Astrid sighed with regret but Y/n just offered her a smile "it's okay, now let's go find the others. Berk has won"

They found the rest of Hiccup's friends, Stoick, Valka and Gobber all in the arena
"Y/n, Astrid! Good to see yous are okay!" Stoick shouted
"Yous aswell, thank you. If it wasn't for Beek I don't know what would have happened to me." Y/n sighed.
"Y/n I think you should tell them your past, it may help if any one from your old village comes back" Hicup suggested once Y/n was beside him. She felt her heart stop but nodded and told the story, everyone seemed to understand, even Valka who Y/n thought would be angry since she had never really told her.
"Well Y/n this is your home now lass, they will never take you" Gobber suddenly spoke up and Y/n said her thanks.

She really felt like this could be home.
