A short while later, I pulled myself away from him, sitting on one of the waiting chairs at the side, just staring to the ground as I messed with my fingers.
Jake was silent too, just trying to be as comforting as he possibly could without making it awkward.
He suddenly crouched down, looking up at me from above. A light smile caressed his sweet face, and though I was upset over Heeseung, my lips clearly couldn't resist seeing his angelic face, and cracked a slight bit upwards.
"There's no point of staying here all night, you may as well go to sleep and come back later. When he's awake." Jake spoke in a low, quiet register, his sparkling gaze looking up at mine.
"If he'll wake." I corrected him, sniffling and cutting my eyes away from his, looking at my hands once more.
Jake gave a light chuckle, placing his single hand over mine.
"I guarantee you that he'll be awake in a few hours Ji-eun, come on, let's get you home cause otherwise Heeseung will kill me." Jake stood up, situating his hands lightly in his pockets.
"I don't care." I lift my head to look up at him, he turned his head to look at me, a small smirk tinged onto his lips at my rough words.
"Ji-eun, don't play this game with me. I will put you in that wheelchair, and take you home like that." Jake nod his head over to a random wheelchair.
A quiet chuckle left my lips, looking over to him as he just stood, waiting for me.
"I don't want to go." I swallowed hard, looking at his hard gaze on me, ".. yet."
He gave a small sigh, not wanting to argue with me any further. He just walked around, looking and reading at the posters on the walls displaying some medical information on certain conditions and whatnot.
"I'll take you to my place instead, you won't be alone, and I'll probably be the first one to be notified when Heeseung wakes up - so we can go immediately." Jake gave a deep exhale, as if it took him a lot of courage to say that.
I knew that if Heeseung ever found out about this, he'd send both me and Jake to hell, but, in this moment, I could really use some company - not to mention - specifically with Jake.
Now, the issue was how I'm supposed to reply to that.
If I stand up immediately and jump around screaming 'yes! yes! of course, take me in your arms!' I'll sound waaay too desperate, but if I sound too unenthusiastic, it'll be so rude and ungrateful.
"That's fair, but you have to seriously take me as soon as you get told." I stood up slowly, applauding myself mentally for that rather relaxed response.
He turned around to look at me, a smile on his face.
"You know it, let's go." He began walking off, and I followed behind slowly, observing the corridors of the hospital.
I used to enjoy the atmosphere of the hospitals, they were rather comforting despite the tragedies here, but now, with Heeseung possibly not waking up here, I don't know if I'll find them as comforting anymore.
I stood outside, Jake waiting for me, sat on his phone while on his motorcycle. He glanced over at me, placing his phone in his pocket and waiting for me.
"What's up?" He observed my face, the rain had stopped - finally - and now the wind gently combed through his hair.
"Do you seriously not have a car or something else? I'd rather a bicycle at this point." I crossed my arms, scoffing and looking to the side for a split second.
Jake gave a gentle laugh, staring at me with some interest.
"I take extra caution to be safe when I'm with you. I promised you that I'd never put you in any danger." Jake spoke, and as his words reached me, that distinct feeling of my heart beating pounded harder at my chest.
I swallowed hard, looking over to the side as the wind blew at my face.
Yeah sure, I didn't look like I cared much over his words, but trust me, if it was socially acceptable, I'd be rolling on the floor.
".. Okay." I rolled my eyes, getting on behind, and wrapping my arms around him. I had no idea where the helmet went, but in that moment, I clearly forgot, and was carried away with the fact that I have had so many encounters with Jake within this week alone.
I leant my head on his broad back, my hands tightening around him as we made it to the highway, driving freely in the night.
I understood totally, why Heeseung enjoyed this kind of thing, it was sweet and relaxing, when there was nobody on the road, when it was quiet, but then again, there's always risks, and you just never know when you're next.
