- Y/N POV -

I knew this would look bad on me when Olivia found out about me and Danielle. Just like it would when Danielle found out that Olivia and I still kept in touch.

"I- I- Okay, stop with the hitting and the poking!" I smacked their hands off me.

"I figured you two would eventually tell each other. You both wanted it to be a secret," I explained myself.

"Could've still told me," Danielle mumbled under her breath.

"So, what are you two back together?" Olivia crossed her arms.

"Uerrmm," I didn't know what to say.

"Not really," Dani answered her.

"So, what's with the shirt?" Olivia looked confused.

"Okay, we've been hooking up. We don't really know what we are. We're just trying to figure it out!" Danielle blabbered for a bit.

Olivia turned to look at me with anger in her eyes.

"Are you leading her on?!" She angrily asked.

"Umm..., No?" I answered.

I didn't see how I was leading her on if Danielle agreed to this too. If anything, Dani was the one really into the noncommittal aspects of our relationship.

"Y/n's not leading me on. If anything, I feel like I'm the one who doesn't want it to be serious," Danielle explained to Olivia.

It broke my heart a bit to hear her say that, but if that's how she felt... then it was my fault...

"Why not?" Olivia turned to ask Danielle.

"Because, I'll be going back to school soon and it will get messy if we try to get serious again. I rather wait and see if we're even still into each other by the time I graduate," Danielle shared.

Her explanation sounded logical. I wanted that too. I just wasn't sure if that was possible. 3-5 more years of waiting around to see if we can be with each other. It sounded impossible.

By then, I would be living on my own for a while. I'd probably be at a good place at my job. I would be wanting to settle down or maybe travel. While Danielle, would be looking for a job and trying to find some sort of stability for herself.

"Agreed," I lowly agreed with her.

It probably wasn't possible, but it was worth a shot.

- Danielle POV -

"Well, I was about to eat dinner do you two want to join me?" Y/n asked to break the tension.

"I'm good. I have a date in a few hours. I just came to get my lipstick," Olivia responded as she invited herself into Y/n's place.

I could tell they had gotten much closer than they were before.

"It's in the guest restroom!" Y/n yelled.

"I remember!" Olivia yelled back.

"Want to join me for dinner?" Y/n asked me.

"Sure," I felt a bit uneasy about what I had said.

I probably shouldn't have said what I said, but it was true. I didn't want things to get serious between us because I didn't want it to get messy again. I didn't want to keep holding Y/n back from growing.

By the time I graduate, Y/n would be settled down and comfortable. They might even have a family of their own at that point. While I would feel more behind than I already do.
