A Shell For Two | JWCC | Yaz x Fem Oc

Hecate opens her eyes slowly. She groans as sunlight blinds her instantly and shades her face with her hand. Her eyes close again for a moment and she feels herself drifting unconscious as her body is lifted.

...

The sky is dark when the boxer opens her eyes the third time since the crash. She smacks her lips, her mouth dry. The young teen turns her head and sees a figure beside her. Hecate blinks multiple times to try and make the blurriness in her vision disappear. She frowns before closing her left eye making her vision go back to normal. She closes her right then opens her left. It's...blurry. She chokes back a sob and leans back, closing her eyes.

Hecate sits up, perched against a tree. Her right leg is broken and she has a gaping hole where the bone pierced through, her right arm is still injured and she's basically blind in her left eye. Great, just fucking great.

Yaz walks over and gently rubs Hecates shoulder, crouching next to her, "Kenji found a way we can go. Are you up for it, 'Cate?" She asks softly. Hecate sniffles and nods. She grabs the makeshift walking stick and hauls herself up, wincing as her foot nudges the ground.

"Where's Sammy?" Hecate asks after scanning over the group.

"I don't know. Ive been avoiding her since the crash" Yaz answers before internally wincing. It's only been maybe a day and it is—and will be—a sore subject for a while.

"Find her please, no matter who did what, we need to stick together. I can't...we can't lose anyone." She says. Yaz nods before wrapping an arm around Hecate's waist, helping her walk. After a few minutes, Sammy joins the group again and they begin walking again, Kenji leading the way with Hecate's bag thrown around his neck. They had used the rest of the clothing in the bag to stop the bleeding in hecates leg and to clean a few cuts on everyone else.

It takes a couple hours but they finally arrive to the area Kenji's talking about. The sign "River Adventure" still stands tall and a large gap shows the inside of a water tunnel. Yasmina guides Hecate into a kayak before climbing herself. Ben and bumpy climb into one, Darius and Sammy into the next, and Kenji and Brooklynn into the last.

"Only paddle if you feel like it, okay? Don't stress your body." Yaz says and Hecate nods, not having the energy to argue. The boxer begins paddling on the right side while Yaz takes the left. Thankfully, hecates arm is healed enough to move it.

They drift down the river for a while before Brooklynn gasps, "Um guys? The cave just got bigger..and brighter!?" She exclaims. Hecate looks up and sees hundreds of luminescent crystals and plants now lining the cavern walls.

Sammy yells, "Is the alge supposed to be moving!?" Around a half a dozen glowing Parasaurolophus surround the four kayaks, focusing on Ben and bumpy.

"Dr Wu must have put the bioluminescent gene into these Parasaurolophuses!" Darius yells in excitement. The dinosaurs begin grunting and knock into the kayaks as they run away.

"They must have been startled by something," Hecate mumbles under her breath as she watches the dinos leave. She felt connected to the dinosaurs on the island with no idea why.

"Darius, if we stopped paddling, why are we still moving forward?" Sammy asks

Darius gasps, "Paddle! There's a current pulling us into a different tunnel." They all begin paddling backwards but to no avail. They all scream as the current pushes them into the tunnel and they approach a waterfall. Their boat hits the water with a large splash but they stay above water. 

"We're okay. We're okay." Ben repeats.

Kenji gasps from his boat. "Why did you gasp? It didn't sound like a good gasp!" Brooklynn exclaims.

" 'Cause I know exactly where we are, guys." He replies, " We're in the Jurassic World Lagoon. And so is the Mosasaurus."

Ben looks into the water fearfully, "I assume the Mosasaurus is some kind of giant fish dinosaur that's gonna try and eat us." He says and yelps as something knocks into the bottom of his kayak, jostling it. 

"It's circling, testing us. It's acting like a shark." Brooklynn says. "We're intruders in its domain, so it's investigating us. Before it gets confident, decides to... to..." She stops suddenly. The mosasaurus snarls from underneath the water.

"This is bad. We have to get out now! There's a ladder by the spectator stands!" Darius yells. 

"How are we gonna--"

"Y'all? Paddle! Go, go, go!" Sammy shouts before whimpering quietly

"This is not how Kenji wanted to go out!" The VIP yells.

"This wasn't on my to do list either!" Yaz yells. Hecate stay quiet. She takes slow breaths to try and call her heart slamming against her chest. Hecate squints and looks into the water, the dinosaur was gaining onto hers and yaz's boat. Bumpy squeals which catches the dinos attention and making it change its objective.

"Help me paddle over there!" Yasmina says and motions to a large pillar in the middle of the pool. Hecate's eyes widen but she complies. The kayaks side bumps into the edge and Hecate hisses in pain as her leg is jostled. Yaz stands and begins climbing up.

"Yaz..yasmina! W-what are you doing!?" Hecate exclaims.

"Distracting the dino, I'll be okay, 'Cate." She answers.

"No! Don't leave me, Yasmina!" Hecate yells and pulls on yaz's arm with shaky hands. Yasmina leans down and kisses her girlfriend softly before squeezing Hecate's hand and letting go.

"I'll be okay. Keep paddling, don't look back" she says and pushes the kayak towards the stands. Hecate does as she's told and looks back when she here's loud thuds coming from yaz's direction. The trackstar's standing up and slamming her paddle into the column to distract the monasaurus. The rest of the groups pulls the other three into the stands when they arrive.

"Do something!" Hecate screams whenever the others notice Yasmina. Kenji swings a large hooked chain in yaz's direction.

"Grab the chain!" He yells. Yasmina catches it and swings herself forward. The chain moves quickly but not quick enough as the monasaurus jumps up, out of the water, and chomps onto the wire, snapping it and making Yaz fall forward.

Hecate steps forward, ignoring the pain it causes, and catches Yasmina right before she hits the ground. The boxer lands on her back with the girl on her chest. Hecate begins sobbing into Yaz's shoulder as she wraps her arms around the teen.

...

An automated voice rings out across the stands, "Wednesdays are k-k-kids-eat-free days h-here at Jurassic World!"

Yasmina pants slightly and leans against one of the seats with Hecate beside her, "I think I hurt my ribs, 'Cate." Yaz says. Hecate moves closer and lifts Yasmina's shirt. Her lower and upper abdomen are covered in black, blue and purple splotches. Hecate gently presses down on a few spots.

"Just bruising from the impact which would've been expected" she says before chuckling, "I suppose a human isn't the softest landing pad." Yaz smiles but drops it as Sammy walks up. Hecate pulls down Yaz's shirt quickly and looks up.

"Thank you for saving us, for saving me. That was amazing. You're amazing." Sammy starts.

"Stop." Yaz says, " We may need each other to stay alive, but don't for a second think that makes us friends again. Because we're not and we will never be." Sammy looks down guilty, "Go somewhere else. I don't want to see you and Hecate can't walk well." Sammy sighs but nods and walks away.
