“So, it’s true. You really come back to Korea.”

Beomgyu clenched his fists as he stared at Minjeong, who was grinning at him from across the table. He was accompanied by Soobin, Dongmin, and their lawyer at the police station.

He had temporarily left the twins under the care of Aunt Soule at Soobin's condo.

Beomgyu had decided to confront Minjeong about the harm she had caused. Although he planned to speak with her after Taehyun recovered, but he couldn’t find peace until he had this conversation and understood why Minjeong had tried to destroy his relationship with Taehyun.

“How could you do this to me?” Beomgyu asked, summoning his courage. Minjeong smirked, leaning back in her chair.

“Because I loathed you.”

“W-Why?”

Beomgyu couldn't think of any other reason for the woman's deep hatred toward him. He thought she had been nice to him, but he was clearly mistaken. The woman's behavior was completely different from what he had previously shown him.

“I’m your half-sister, Beomgyu. I’m the legitimate daughter of Choi Myungjun, the man who got your mother pregnant.”

Beomgyu was too stunned by the revelation. His eyes widened at the disclosure. He never imagined that this woman was also his father’s child.

“I also loathed my stupid whore father because, as I grew up, I witnessed how my mother suffered and almost begged for his love! I hated him so much, especially when he met your mother after your Grandmother Jung-hee brought her in to work for us. My mother and I found out about the affair between him and your mother. So, when my father went on a business trip, we kicked your Grandma and your bitch mother out of our house. When my father found out, he was furious with my mother for having them thrown out. H-He then tried to find your mother, only to discover that she was pregnant with you! He tried to support you both, but your Grandma refused.”

"And you know what’s even more painful, Choi fucking Beomgyu? After we found out that my father loved your mother deeply—love that my own mother had been yearning for—he decided to leave her and come to you to be with you and your whore mother! My mother killed him. She went mad. She completely lost her mind because of what happened between you and your mother! Until she eventually committed suicide!”

Beomgyu couldn’t hold back his tears any longer as he listened to the woman, who was crying as well. He could feel the depth of the pain Minjeong was experiencing from her past.

“I... I tried to move on, but when I returned from States and saw you at Taehyun's house, you looked exactly like your mother because of that ugly hair color! I had you investigated, thinking it might be a coincidence, but my PI confirmed that you are indeed my bastard half-brother. My anger toward you and your mother was reignited... My hatred grew even more when you took Taehyunie away from me! You and your mother are the same—both of you are nothing but an innocent slut and thieves!”

Minjeong’s face twisted in anger as Beomgyu slapped her. “My mother has been dead for a long time, but no matter how angry you are, you have no right to speak about her like that!”

“Why? Does the truth hurt, doesn’t it?” Minjeong smirked mockingly. Just as Beomgyu was about to slap her again, Soobin stopped him, his eyes showing no emotion as he turned toward the woman.

“I’m also a bastard son of Choi Myungjun. When my mother introduced me to your father, he outright rejected and denied me. You know what he said? He wished my mother had aborted me... So we distanced ourselves. My mother knew Beomgyu's mother and your father’s true feelings, but even then, I never let my anger toward your father affect Beomgyu. I understand my situation is different from yours, but you shouldn’t have let your anger drive you to hurt others. Did you know Beomgyu almost had a miscarriage abroad because of what you did to him?” Soobin's eyes watered remembering the struggle the younger male have.
