Heated [mxm]

As Kyle drove to his new job his mind went back to the events of the last couple of days.

After blowing up his interview at Spatial Delights or so he thought, he had desperately went home with a stranger after making out at the bar. Something he hasn't done in a long time.

He had called Liam the next morning immediately he got back to his apartment to rant and Liam had comforted him.
He had then spent the rest of his Tuesday and Wednesday curled up on his sofa wallowing in self pity.
So imagine his surprise when he got a call on Thursday from Spatial telling him he passed the interview.

He couldn't believe it.
And after a long weekend contemplating if he should take the job and talking to Liam about everything, here he was on Monday morning driving to work for his first day.

He got to the building and walked into the lobby. He took in the view with a smile, it really is beautiful.

"Hello, you must be Mr Scott" a lady that looked to be in her late Twenties said to him with a smile.

"Hello" Kyle said turning to her

"Elizabeth James" she said shaking his hand "you can call me Liz, Elizabeth makes me sound old"

"Call me Kyle Please" he replied smiling.
She looked cheerful and was leading him towards the elevator while explaining.
Maybe it won't be so bad after all, he wasn't completely sure when he decided to start that he was going to make it to a month, but he wanted to try anyway.
His dream and career was too important to him to give up without a try just because of a silly crush.
He frowned as he thought about it.

"I will be helping you settle in, everyone was curious who got the job, and let's just say I am part of everyone" she grinned as they got into the elevator.

"Really? Why I wonder" he was beginning to relax now.

"Well, Mr Maxwell is a perfectionist!"
She stated "Don't get me wrong, he is good, and a great boss but he is a man that expects nothing less than excellent and the job is for a junior architect that will work closely and personally with him. We've already had two interviews previously and he dint like any of the applicants, so you see why everyone was curious" she finished

"Hmm" Kyle can probably guess that part of the reason he was hired was because Xavier recognized him.
He do hope that wasn't the only reason though, this was his career and he will be damned if he let anyone undermine it, he was good at this and not even his sister's hot ex will undermine it.

The elevator stopped at the first floor and they walked out.
Kyle was quiet now, he listened to Liz explain where everything was and the offices.

"So that's it, The first floor comprises of the HR department which is down the hall and the architects offices are also on this floor" she lead them into a  large room that looked like a conference room with see through glasses that went all the way up.

"This is the external conference room, for meetings and presentations with clients and partners." Liz explained
"The conference room upstairs is the internal conference room, it's for meetings and brainstorming and general gathering of internal staffs.
Okay, let's go up to where your office is at then"

They got back on the elevator and stopped at the second floor

"Okay" she said "Mr Maxwell's office is on this floor as well as yours. The management and administrative part of the company is basically on this floor. Mr Maxwell's office is the one at that end" she continued pointing in front of her.

"That is his Secretary's at the front and this is your office" she finished opening a small office that was minimal yet classic.
"Try and get settled in before Mr Maxwell gets here. Your job is basically to assist the boss, help with his designs, finish some and generally work under him and help him out. The kind of responsibility he gives you over time will depend on how you have proven yourself. And don't worry, he is a fair man"
She is about to leave now

"Ask Adam anything you don't understand, he is the secretary, everything you'll need is in the box on the table and my office is down the hall if you need anything else" with that she finally left with a smile.

Now left alone, Kyle took in his surrounding, it was a minimal office with two chairs and a table and a shelf by the wall.
The previous guy probably liked plants because there was like two on the windows and one by the side of the room.

Sitting down with a sigh, he turned on the system determined to do a good job..

Xavier was sitting in his office and going through some designs on his tablet when a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in" he looked up from his phone to see his new employee walk in.
He hasn't seen the boy in over two years and he has gotten finer, if that was even possible.

"Kyle" He said to the younger man with a smile "sit down"

"Mr Maxwell" Kyle said a little anxious as he sat down opposite Xavier

"Come on" Xavier laughed "aren't we past the last name bases? Call me Xavier, you've always called me that"

"But you're my boss now" Kyle said finally relaxing a bit

"Yea, true, call me Xavier still."
He said "I dint know you studied architecture" Xavier said.

He had been supprised seeing Kyle at the interview, shocked even. He dint know the boy was an architect, Kyle always avoided him the few times they met, and after him and his sister broke up he was sure he wasn't the boy's favorite person, if he probably knew he owned Spatial Delights he was sure Kyle wouldn't have applied, not that any of that was his fault.

Him and Lauren just weren't working. They were together for barely a year, after trying to make the relationship work and failing, they both decided to go back to being friends.
He remembered the first day he met Kyle, he couldn't believe someone could look so beautiful and shy at the same time. The boy had looked at him with wide eyes and flushed face and then excused himself and literally ran.

Kyle had avoided him ever since, he once asked Lauren about him and she jokingly said that Kyle probably has a crush on him, only Lauren can say something like that.

He had tried not to stare when he saw him at the interview but it was hard with the way the boy was looking at him.

"I also dint know you were done with school" Xavier dropped his tablet now looking at him as he folded his hands in front of his chest.

"There is a lot of things you don't know about me" Kyle clipped looking at him. Then he quickly bit his  lips and looked down as color crept to his check.

"True" Xavier said calmly looking at the younger man in front of him. He dint know if it was nervousness that was making him turn so red or something else.
He badly wanted to run his hands on those cheeks to see if they were as warm as they look.

Xavier folded his hands tighter around his chest "we will be getting to know a lot about each other then as time goes on, seeing as we will be working today"

"Yes sir" Kyle said

"I will send some files to you, go through them, then we meet in few hours and take it from there" Xavier chuckled as he got up and started folding the sheets sprawled on his desk "You can go now"

"Okay sir"
Kyle stood up and hurriedly left the office.
