Millard's POV

"Hey! What are you doing?" I yelled at Jake as he was about to sit on me

"Millard, go and put some clothes on. Polite people do not take supper in the nude. Also please get Y/N too while your at it, I don't think she heard the dinner bell." Miss Peregrine asked me

"Alright!" I said annoyed as I walked out of the dining room while the other kids giggled at me.

As I walked to me & Y/N's bedroom, I heard the song, Somethin' Stupid by Frank Sinatra ,coming from the inside. I slowly open the door and see Y/N drawing something on the desk.

"And afterwards we drop into a quiet little place, and have a drink or two" I hear Y/N sing as she drew.

I walk inside and slowly go up to her from behind.

"And then I go and spoil it all like saying something stupid like-" Y/N sang but was interrupted by me finishing her sentence.

"I love you" I said from behind her

Y/N jumps in her seat, startled by my voice. She stops drawing and turns around with a smile on her face but is met with nothing there.

"Mills?.. why do you have no clothes on?" she asks me with an annoyed look on her face

"Whatt, I feel more comfier without them" I said to her which she responded with an eye roll but she chuckled at my silliness afterwards.

"Miss Peregrine sent me up to put some clothes on and to get you for dinner." I told her as I started to dress myself.

She nodded in response and turned off the music. After I finished changing, Y/N teleported us into the dining room.

"Took you guys long enough. What were you guys even doing? Making out or-" Hugh said as we balanced ourselves but he was cut off by Miss Peregrine

"Hugh! Not in front of the younger ones please." she said with a stern tone

"What? I wasn't gonna say it!" Hugh exclaimed while I was laughing at him being scolded.

"Now eat your food before it gets cold" Miss Peregrine told everyone as me and Y/N sat down.

Y/N's POV

As we started eating, bees starting flying everywhere.

"Hugh!" Olive exclaimed from beside him, looking annoyed

"Where's your net?" Emma asked him as everyone was swatting away the bees

"Please put it on for crying out loud!" I say from my seat as I swat away the bees

Hugh rolled his eyes but finally put on his net and sucked all the bees back into his mouth.

"It must be strange to you Jake. Meeting your grandfather's friends and visiting another century!" Fiona said as she started to make a conversation while drinking her water

"Yea it must be, I was a bit shocked when I first met them" I said afterwards with a smile remembering the day we all first met.

"Are there spaceships in your time Jake? Like in the Flash Gordon books?" Olive asked Jake

"Now now Olive! What did I say about asking questions?" Miss Peregrine said with a smile

"We don't discuss the future here. We enjoy living in the here and now!" Miss Peregrine continued as she grabbed a chicken leg and ate it.

"Claire, why aren't you eating?" Miss Peregrine asked Claire when she noticed

"She's embarrassed in front of Jake but I told her it was completely fine." I responded

"Y/N's right. Don't be, please" Jake told Claire which made her smile.

Claire brought the huge chicken leg to the back of her head which was devoured by her second mouth. Jake looked a bit startled but didn't judge.

"So Jake, what's your peculiarity? asked Horace

"Oh, I'm... I'm not peculiar" Jake said in response

"And that my friends is why he'll not be staying with us, no matter how hard we try to persuade him." Enoch said which made me roll my eyes.

"We spoken about this, Jake is just visiting." Miss Peregrine said, completely ignoring Enoch's comment

"Don't you want to stay Jake?" Olive asked him as Enoch glared at her

"Tonight or.." Jake asked a bit skeptical

"Forever! You should stay forever!" Claire exclaimed

"Claire, that's-" I was about to say something when Enoch interrupted me

"Why would he if he doesn't have to?" asked Enoch

"He can live out there. Grow older, have a good time instead and he'll leave just like his grandfather and Y/N's dad did" Enoch said nonchalantly

Emma stood up from her seat and left the room which made me glare at Enoch. Enoch shrugged and didn't care since he had NO SHAME. All he did was continue eating.

"Emma!" Miss Peregrine yelled out for her

"Good going Enoch! You totally just made me and Emma's day!" I say to him with sarcasm in my voice.

I got out of my chair and followed Emma. As I was walking out, I heard Mills yelling at Enoch.

"You didn't have to bring them up Enoch, you know how N/N and Emma are with that topic! Why do you have to be such an asshole all the time?" he yelled which made me smile a bit.

I continued walking to Emma when I find her at the window seat in the library. She sits there, curled up in a ball and her head on her knees.

"Hey Em.." I say with a soft smile on my face as I walk up to her

"Hi.." Emma said softly

I sat beside her and put my arm around her shoulder and she rested her head on mine as we sat in silence. It wasn't romantical or anything, just two best friends giving comfort to one another. Wishing that Enoch could be nicer.
