The Maya diaries: A Tale of Friendship and Growth

I ran down to Ava's, luckily it was just a few blocks away from mine.
I didn't know what was wrong with her, this was the first time something like this has ever happened, so i was really worried.

As I got to her door, I opened it and ran in but I was halted by the sound of the word  "Surprise". I didn't understand what was going on, I looked around scanning the crowd of people looking for Mrs. Emily or Ava or Eve but I didn't find either one of them. Confused, I decided to Walk back out thinking I walked into the wrong house ruining someone else's surprise party, but then I heard Ava call my name from inside the house so I ran back in and saw her.

I gave her a big hug, asked if she was okay, looked her up, down and all round trying to locate the injury that made her fall unconscious yet she seemed perfectly fine, No marks or bruises. So I asked what all this was about and she told me that it was a surprise goodbye party and that was the only way she thought she could get you here without you finding out about the party.

I took one look at the entire living room, filled with LED lights, streamers, balloons, A photo booth, banners with my name on them, a desert table, a gift table and other decorations. I turned around to see Ava and Eve in silent tears, so I gave them a hug and I told them, if this was going to be the last party we go to together then let's make the most of it.

We went to the photo booth first, took some silly pictures, sad ones and really happy ones, then we went to the desert table, I cut the cake and fed Ava and Eve and they fed me as well, Ava's mom came over, picked up the cake, cut them into smaller sizes and shared them for the others that came to the party.

I was really having a lot of fun but it was getting a bit late and knowing I'd have to walk all the way back home I decided to tell Ava but she didn't let me leave. She said I wasn't leaving until I got to receive and open my gifts.

 First were Eve's, it was a photo album of all our memories and adventures together. Flipping through each page made me feel like I was there again. I almost cried but I stopped myself. Next were from a few of my classmates, they were letters and cards so I decided I'd open them when I got home. Ava walked over to me with a gift box in her hand and she handed it over to me, she told me it was from her and whispered to me to open it when I get home.

I gave them both a tight hug, thanked them both for the party and hurriedly ran towards the door but I was stopped Again but this time by Ava's mom. She offered to drive me home and I accepted the offer.
On the drive home I thanked Mrs. Emily for baking the cake and for calling me, if she didn't then I wouldn't have come to the party.

She dropped me off at home, my mom thanked her and asked me if Ava was okay and I told mom everything that happened.
