My promise (MikeyxOc)

I knew full well that if Mikey saw me, he'd kill me. After all, I'd deliberately disobeyed one of his orders.

But I had a bad feeling that wouldn't go away so I wanted to make sure everything went well in the fight. I knew the Toman would win because Mikey was there but I was also worried about my little brother. It was his first time in a real battle and he wasn't really very good at fighting. Even though he'd bluffed me during the fight on 3 August (NDA: apparently that's the name of the battle). I was also wondering how Kei and Kazutora had approached their first fight against the Tokyo Manjikai.

I was hiding behind a pile of broken vehicles. I don't know whose idea it was to fight here, but I had to thank him. It's the ideal place to keep a low profile. I found it strange that no noise was coming from the battle, so I decided to get a little closer and hide behind another pile.

I glanced at the battle and my eyes widened.

Chifuyu, in tears, was holding an extremely pale Baji in her arms. Beside him, Mikey was beating Kazutora who was doing nothing to defend himself.

Wait a second, Kei's not dead, is he? He's just fainted?! Kei, dead? I can't believe it! It's IMPOSSIBLE.

Suddenly, Takemichi, already pretty banged up, ran screaming between Kazutora and Mikey.

Although I was quite far away, his icy voice rang in my ears:

-Get lost... Or I'll kill you too.

-Stop that! Mikey! Takemichi shouted, his arms spread wide to form a barrier.

The Toman leader punched him in the face, sending him flying several metres. Despite everything, my little brother got up.

As for me, I stared at the scene, dumbfounded. Damn, why did his impulses have to come back now?

When he was like that, Mikey was very serious when he said he was going to kill Takemichi.

-That's not what Baji wanted! he shouted before taking another blow to the face, knocking him to the ground.

-Don't you dare mention Baji,' warned the head of the Toman, sharply.

My body moved before I could even think and I stepped between Mikey, Kazutora and Takemichi.

I heard Takemichi's shocked voice say:

-Big sister?

-What are you doing here? my boyfriend asked coldly. I told you not to come.

-I'm sorry... I began. I knew Baji was going to do something and I didn't stop him. Nor did I try to convince Kazutora to give up the fight.

I felt tears rolling down my cheeks as the leader of the Toman glared at me.

-I'm the responsible one here. If you have to hit someone, hit me. If you want to kill someone, I'll let you. But Baji is already dead, I don't want to see anyone else die.

To everyone's astonishment, I knelt before the leader.

-I beg you, leave Kazutora and Takemichi alone.

-Please don't... Rinnie, don't!' whispered Kazutora. You don't have to kneel for me.

-The Mikey I know isn't like that. He'd never kill anyone. So please come to your senses!

A moment passed and then the Toman leader's eyes, which had turned white, returned to their usual colour.

-Rei... Na? Why are you kneeling on the ground? And why are you crying? he asked, stunned.

-Are you back? What took you so long, you idiot! I said with a smile, tears still streaming down my face.

Mikey took my hand to help me up.

-Rei,' he said, 'Baji is...

-I know,' I cut him off, taking him in my arms. But I'm here, Draken, Emma and the whole Toman too. We're all alive and we'll pay our respects to Baji. I'll never let you down and you know it.

-What happened? muttered the Toman leader. I don't remember anything from the moment Baji died.

-You tried to kill Kazutora and Takemichi,' I replied. And as usual when this kind of situation arises, I got in the way ^^.

I let go of him.

-You must know more than me, Takemichi,' I said to my brother. Do you want to enlighten us?

-Baji killed himself because he didn't want Kazutora to feel responsible for his death,' he sniffed. And he wanted Mikey to forgive Kazutora. He did it because he loved you.

The head of the Toman and Valhalla's number three stared at Takemichi. After all, he was the one who reported the last words of the deceased.

Suddenly a purple object fell out of my little brother's jacket.

Mikey bent down and picked it up.

-Takemichou... Where did you get that lucky charm? he asked.

-At the gathering. I found it at the shrine.

My eyes widened.

-A lucky charm? Draken asked.

- ! It's ... Mitsuya realised, shocked.

-Baji... Had this... All this time? Mikey asked, his eyes fixed on the object.

-Since that day... I muttered.
