The Medium (One Piece Fanfiction)

Maera pov

I was walking around the village to look for a place to have my breakfast. I had been here for three days since after we defeated Kaido.

Walk into the small restaurant, and the people there immediately greet me, "Good morning, Maera-san!"

"Good morning, everyone!" The village is small, so I almost know the people here during my stay. I found a seat and started to order my food from the waiter. After some time, my food is here, it looks so delicious.

Meanwhile, I also listened to their talk, "Do you want to go to Uta's concert? It will held in three days."

"Nah, I need to work the next day. I can just watch her live with Den Den Mushi."

"What concert?" I asked after I finished my last food. Then the man handed me the newspaper, "Have you heard of Uta? She is a famous singer."

"Uta... sounds familiar to me, but I don't know much about music so I am not really interested in the concert," I said while taking the newspaper and looking at it, it stated there would be a concert in three days, and the location is Elegia.

"Elegia..." I murmured the name.

"The Island is near to ours. You can go to have a look if you want. It's the Island of Music."

"I will consider it."

"Let's go, Mae! I want to enjoy the concert!"- Roger

"It must be fun!"- Oden

"Yes! Let's go!"- Spirits

"By the way, did you know Elegia was destroyed by the famous Pirate Red-haired Shanks? And there are only two survivors after the incident."

"What?! Impossible! Shanks will never do that!"- Roger

"I can't imagine Akataro destroyed a whole island."- Oden

"I think through this concert, maybe they can earn some money and attract more people to visit the Island." the man continued to say.

I didn't say anything. After I paid for my food, I walked out of the restaurant and returned to the inn where I had stayed.

"Mae, do you really believe what they said?"- Roger

"Of course I don't, Shanks won't do anything like this. I believe he had his own reason. I think I should go to the concert to have a look."

Next morning

I decided to ride my Tu-du to Elegia but on my way, I encountered the Marines, 'Oh no, they gonna catch me. They are faster than me.'

I can hear one of the marines yell, "The medium, Maera was spotted!"

When I want to ride at full speed, another voice speaks again to me through the speaker, "Wait Maera-san, we will not hurt you if you listen to our request!"

I turned around and saw a boy who had pinked hair with glasses on his forehead lean over the rail, talking to me, I thought for a while and decided to listen what is the request. So I answered, "Fine. You better don't do anything stupid." I warned.

I climbed up the ship and noticed that all the marines had already surrounded me with their weapon pointed at me with caution, the pink-haired boy quickly commanded them to put down their weapon, guess he was the higher rank.

"Koby, are you sure you want to ask for her help?" Another man who was trembling beside him asked the pink-haired boy.

"Oh! You are Koby the Hero. I read it in the news, you protected the citizens and helped to defeat Blackbeard in the Rocky Port Incident! Amazing marines!" I said.

"Th-thanks." He said shyly.

"So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Oh yes. Maera-san, could you cooperate with us on a mission?"

"I thought Marines would never cooperate with pirates?" I questioned him.

"Uhm... I think you are different? I don't think you are actually a cruel person, you feel like a pirate I knew before. You were wanted just because you were the lover of red-haired Shanks."

"This marine feels nice!"- Roger

"Then what should I do in this mission? I have to know all the details before I accept your request."

"Alright. Later we will arrive at the Island of Music Elegia, to investigate the singer named Uta. She ate the Uta Uta no Mi, the Sing Sing Devil Fruit. So whoever hears her singing will be transported into the Sing-sing World."

"What?! That's so powerful! Then how do you get out from the Sing-sing World?" I asked.

"We don't know. So we have to investigate it. The only thing we know is that if Uta falls asleep in reality, then the people inside the Sing-sing World will be able to come out."

"From now on, the mission is starting," Koby commands the Marines to get ready. I wore the earphones he gave me and hid among the crowd to go inside the concert. Some people think I'm weird as to who would wear earphones when coming to the concert.

I sit in the last row so I can have a better look at the stage since it is the highest place, and then I notice in the middle, a group of people are having some food. When I looked closely, I finally realized,

"Is that Luffy?!"
