In a world where happiness is elusive and doubts cloud every decision,

I stared at my suitcase as if it was plotting my murder. Why did I agree to this? Oh wait, I didn't. Bhai agreed for me.
"It'll be safer if you travel with Advik, besides that you both are heading back to Pune," he had said.
"Right! I have no problem with that!" that brown-eyed charmer assured him.
Yeah, sure, makes perfect sense. Except for the part where I'm stuck in a car for hours with the same guy I kissed on the cheek that night like a total emotional fool.
I huffed, throwing myself onto the bed dramatically. Maybe I could fake a cold? No, that's too obvious. Stomachache? Too risky. Knowing my luck, Dad would call the doctor and suddenly, I'd be on bed rest for the entire vacation.
"Ughhh!!" I sighed.
"Anika! Are you coming or not? Advik is leaving!" Bhai's voice echoed through the hallway.
Oh god, With him. I quickly ran my fingers through my hair and took a deep breath. "Alright, Anika, you've got this. Just pretend you didn't kiss him okay? It was just a thank-you kiss and definitely don't stare at his stupid perfect eyes."
I grabbed my suitcase and headed out, trying to ignore the restlessness in my stomach.
At the entrance, Bhai stood there, all proud like he'd just made the best decision of his life. Next to him was Advik, leaning against the car, his hands folded on his chest, looking annoyingly charming as usual.
I swallowed. Alright, just act normal. Super normal. The kind of normal that's almost weird because it's so normal. Nooo! That tooo normall!!!
"Did you change your mind?" Bhai asked, snapping me out of my overthinking.
I shook my head, plastering on a bright smile. "No, I'm ready..."
Advik looked up from his phone, his eyes meeting mine for a split second.
He gave a nod in my direction, which I awkwardly returned. It was a nod-off. Great.
I was at Jiya's place the whole day yesterday and returned after gossiping about our entire bloodline at night. Advik and Bhai skipped dinner since Ishaan bhaiya was returning yesterday so we didn't interact too much which...was kind of a relief for me.
"I've already told Advik to drop you off safely. He's very responsible," Bhai said, patting Advik on the back. Advik shot him a 'why are you being so formal' look, but nodded anyway.
"Safe and sound, don't worry," he said, a smile pressed on his lips. Why was he smirking? Oh god, does he know I'm freaking out? Does he remember the kiss? Okay, he definitely does. What if he points that out during our car ride again?
I threw my suitcase into the back seat with a bit too much force, making a loud thud. Both of them looked at me, Bhai with concern and Advik with...amusement?
