As a young child, Donald's pale skin was hardly ever clear.

He'd always have some form of black and blue bruising or red swelling from being beaten up by his stepfather or classmates.

He didn't mind getting beaten by his stepfather. He would do whatever it took to protect his mother. His mother was incredibly ill and he was worried about his stepfather potentially beating her to death.

After his mother died and his stepfather ran off with the life insurance money, Donald beat his bullies up black and blue. He repaid them for all the times they had hurt him.

After getting stronger, Donald no longer bruised as easily. He was also able to dodge attacks much easier as well as block and parry. He never struggled with fights.

The last time he had actually gotten bruised was on October 24. 

Ben Park's punches had gotten stronger and actually did some damage to him. Gray Yeon's steel-toed shoes and plaster-covered fists also did some pretty good damage. Myles and his Manwol goons had metal bats and, let's be honest, those things could bruise anyone that it hits.
