Give 'Us' A Chance

CHAPTER 9

He is so funny. 

Goodness what the heck was funny in this? Are you whipped or what?

"One more thing, you will prepare a presentation this time to present, and I want it total perfect. You got it." 

"Yes, I got it"

"You are dismissed." With a nod he went away. 

I was working and after few minutes my intercom buzzed. 

"Miss"

His voice is so-

"Yes, Mr. Thomas."

"Miss, the meeting can't be arranged this week not even the other week. Means next month's first Monday it's possible." He sounded happy or relieved or I don't know. 

"Fine. But prepare the presentation in this week only, next week you will present it to me first, if any gaps are there so it can be fixed."

"Sure, ma'am" He literally said it in a singing voice. What's wrong with him.

"Are you ok Mr. Thomas?" I had to ask, who can be so happy in morning. Is he a morning person?

"I am ok ma'am" the way he said made me feel like someone asked him to be in attention position. But still there was a playful tone in it. 

I chuckled. I literally chuckled. No, it can't be. 

Clearing my throat, "Fine, do your work now." I tried to say it firmly, but it didn't happen perfectly.

I was in a quite good mood, since morning. No, when I woke up this morning, I hit my toe in the chair, so clearly since morning it's not. Yeah, maybe after arriving at office. Whatever, but I am feeling somehow happy happy. It's lunch time. I decided to have lunch with my brother. We were sitting in the restaurants and a few seconds earlier a waitress took our order. 

"So, how's everything going?" He asked

"Mine, is good you tell me."

"Same."

"I wanted to ask you something."

"Go on."

"Well, grandma was asking for us to visit them."

"Yeah, she was even asking me few days earlier."

"So, what do you say."

"Nothing"

"What?"

"Well, there is too much work to do, I will go someday later." Then, the same waitress came with our lunch. And we started eating.

"But I was also missing Lily." I said, yeah, I was missing her very much. I really want to hug her and keep her with me.

"I know, even I do. You should go and spend some time with her it's been over a year."

"I know. I was also thinking if she continues her studies here, staying with me." He looked at me and sighed.

"You know, you have to work a lot and then you won't be able to give her time she will feel lonely. You also have to go in business trips."

Now, it's my time to sigh. "But, I can't stay away from her anymore. I don't do overtime and if there is any situation where I have to leave for few days, you can look after her."

 I might sound selfish a bit but what should I do I want her with me and it's not that every other day I have to go for business trip. "Please, you know grandparents will only allow me when you will give permission." I pleaded.
