Give 'Us' A Chance

CHAPTER 9

He gave me a defeated look which tells me yes, he agreed. "Fine, and don't worry if you are thinking that you sound like a selfish." I had a smile which only lasted for a millisecond. "Because you are selfish." 

"Wow, so funny." And he started laughing. Siblings are the most annoying creature I have ever seen. But still are the most caring & loving.

"When are you planning to go?"

"Not now, but next month I guess."  "Hmm"

Today, is the meeting. Mr. Thomas presented the presentation to me last week. I would say 'Impressive'. I thought there would be many gaps in it or it won't be much nice. But, no doubt he proved me wrong. The presentation is absolutely perfect. I still wonder why he haven't worked in nice companies before or does have good experience. Everything was perfect so far working with him. No delays, no complains, punctual. Good.

He came to my cabin informing we should go to meeting hall now as they have come. So, we both were going towards it but what I noticed was him being very nervous, or even angry. Nervous is understandable but angry? 

Before entering I turned to him and asked, "Mr. Thomas, are you feeling, ok?"  

"Me? Feeling, ok? Why not, I am absolutely fit and fine?" But his voice wasn't fit and fine. It was mixed with different emotions.

"Look, if you are nervous, you don't have to, your presentation is good just do it the way you presented it to me. OK."

He looked deeply in my eyes. Why does he look so much in my eyes? Or does he do with everyone?

"Yeah" His voice was barely audible, his face was red. Yeah, one more thing that I noticed his face keeps on going red. 

Then we entered inside, and there he was sitting with the same woman again, I greeted Mr. Thomas as I did last time. He turned to me and this time he was also about to greet me but then stopped. 

He looked behind me and made a confused face. But I decided to introduce them to each other. 

"Mr. Robert Thomas, this is-"

"Ethan Thomas, isn't it?" The old man said. I looked at Ethan Thomas and he had an angry face. First Mr. Walker and now this. 

"Uh, yes. Do you know each other by any chance?" 

"Any chance?" He chuckled and looked at me "You don't know your son by any chance." 

Huh!! son? I again looked beside me to see him looking at his dad with a disgusting face. 

"What do you work as Ethan?" 

"As a PA." He said in a teasing voice. There's nothing to tease.

"As a WHAT?" He shouted so loud that I was stunned. "You work as her pa. A woman's PA." Woman's PA sounded like he was ashamed of what his son was doing.

I mean just wow, a woman can be a man's pa, but it can't be vice versa. Exactly, in which century was he living. I took a deep breath calming me. Before, Ethan could answer I said.

"Mr. Robert Thomas, I don't understand what you meant by a woman's pa, but a talent and efficiency don't have a gender. And I believe the woman beside you is also chosen for her work ethics not something which is highly nonprofessional." 

He was now angrier as if I care. Things like these make me want to slam the person's head on the wall. Rubbish. "Please, whatever your personal matters are take care of it in privacy. We are here for the meeting. Please have a seat Mr. Thomas" I also took a seat.
