"I can be better for you.
I'm not saying that I could be better than him, but better for you. I can show you. I'll try. I can be serious about us. Can he? Just ask yourself that first."
Was Jay really ready for something deeper?
Was he more ready t...
As soon as class ended, Sunghoon and Jay grabbed their things, eager to get out of the lecture hall.
They were still processing the earlier whirlwind of emotions but neither felt the need to bring it up again.
The hallway was buzzing with students, but it wasn’t long before they spotted Jungwon and Sunoo waiting near the entrance.
“Jay hyung!” Jungwon called out as he approached, Sunoo quietly walking beside him. “Could you drop us at my place real quick? It’s kind of out of the way, but we don’t want to take the bus today.”
Jay exchanged a quick glance with Sunghoon, who gave a slight nod before opening the door to head toward the parking lot.
“Yeah, sure. Hop in.” Jay replied, tossing his bag into the backseat as they reached the car.
Jungwon and Sunoo smiled gratefully and slipped into the back, chatting quietly.
Sunghoon got into the passenger seat, resting his head back against the seat, still not saying much.
Jay could tell he was still a little distant, but he knew Sunghoon would be fine eventually.
As they pulled out of the school lot, the car ride was calm, though there was an air of anticipation in the air.
The events of the morning still lingered with Sunghoon, and Jay felt it too, but they were both trying to move past it.
Jungwon and Sunoo, meanwhile, exchanged a few quiet words about an upcoming project, not noticing the subtle tension in the front.
As they drove, Jay’s phone buzzed with a notification.
Glancing at it briefly at a stoplight, he noticed it was from the group chat, Niki and Jake discussing their plans to head to the coffee shop where Heeseung was working.
lilniki: Jake and I are headed to the café. Get ready, Heeseung.
aussiejake: We’re coming to distract you from working. Aussiejake sent a picture*

Jay smiled faintly and glanced at Sunghoon. “Looks like Jake and Niki are heading to Heeseung’s work to mess with him.”
Sunghoon gave a half-smirk. “They’re probably going to make his shift even longer with their chaos.”
Jay chuckled, pulling into Jungwon’s neighborhood. “Knowing Niki, that’s the plan.”
After a few minutes, they arrived at Jungwon’s place.
Jungwon leaned forward from the backseat. “Thanks for the ride, Jay. Appreciate it.”
“No problem.” Jay said, giving a quick nod as Sunoo quietly thanked them too before both of them climbed out of the car and waved goodbye.
