When they finally pulled up to their shared apartment, Jay parked the car, and the three of them climbed out, tired.
The cool night air felt refreshing as they headed inside, their steps a bit heavier now as hunger began to set in.
As soon as they entered the apartment, Heeseung kicked off his shoes, stretching his arms above his head.
“I’m starving. Let’s make something quick.”“Yeah, same.”
Sunghoon agreed, tossing his jacket onto the back of the couch before heading toward the kitchen.
“What’s in the fridge?”Jay followed behind, flipping on the lights.
“Probably nothing much. We should go shopping.”
He opened the fridge door, eyeing the contents.
“We’ve got.. some leftover rice, eggs, and a few veggies. We could make fried rice?”Heeseung leaned over Jay’s shoulder, peering into the fridge.
“Fried rice sounds perfect. Sunghoon, can you grab the soy sauce?”Sunghoon nodded, rummaging through the pantry while Jay pulled out the ingredients.
Heeseung grabbed a frying pan and set it on the stove, turning the burner on.
The familiar clinking of pots and pans filled the air as they moved around the kitchen.
Sunghoon sliced up some vegetables while Jay beat the eggs, and Heeseung threw the leftover rice into the pan, stirring it around as it began to sizzle.
The smell of garlic and onions filled the kitchen, making their stomachs growl in anticipation.
“Smells so good already.”
Jay said, stepping in to toss the veggies into the pan with Heeseung.Sunghoon leaned against the counter, watching them work together.
“You know, for three guys who barely have time, we’re not bad at this.”Heeseung laughed, giving the pan a quick flip.
“Teamwork, baby.”As the food cooked, the three of them relaxed into casual conversation, recounting the day’s funniest moments.
Jake and Niki’s date, the café antics, and their ridiculous jealousy over Jeongin.“Still can’t believe Jeongin’s your stepbrother.”
Jay muttered, cracking another egg into a bowl.Heeseung just grinned, stirring the rice.
“Yeah, I’m never letting you guys live that down.”Within minutes, the fried rice was done, the vegetables perfectly cooked and the eggs scrambled in.
Sunghoon grabbed a few plates, and Jay scooped generous portions onto each one.
They sat at the kitchen table, the plates steaming in front of them, and dug in with satisfied sighs.
It was a simple meal, but after a long day, it felt like the perfect way to unwind.
“Man, this hits the spot.”
Sunghoon said between bites.Jay nodded in agreement, taking a big forkful.
“We should do this more often..cook together, I mean.”Heeseung smirked, leaning back in his chair.
“As long as you don’t mind me making you jealous over random people again.”Jay groaned, but he was smiling. “We’ll see about that.”
Later that night, after finishing their meal, the guys were lounging around the living room, feeling full and content.
Jay was scrolling through his phone when he suddenly sat up straight, his eyes widening.
"Guys, check this out."
Jay said, holding his phone up for the others to see.Heeseung and Sunghoon glanced over curiously.
