Parth's POV

It had been three days since Sanskriti hugged me, and I still wasn't over it. The moment played on repeat in my head. The way she held onto me, the way her small hands gripped my shirt like I was her safe place—it was driving me insane.

Dhruv had noticed something was up. I wasn't exactly subtle. He had been throwing me suspicious looks, especially since I had been acting weird around Sanskriti. Not that I usually acted normal, but this was different.

"Are you sure you're not sick?" Dhruv asked as we sat in the canteen with Arshika and Sanskriti. "You haven't insulted me properly in two days."

I scoffed. "I'm just feeling generous."

Sanskriti giggled, and I immediately turned to look at her. Big mistake. Her eyes met mine, and for some reason, she blushed and looked away. Damn.

"Parth, did you even hear what I said?" Arshika's voice snapped me out of my trance.

"Uh... yeah," I said, completely clueless.

She rolled her eyes. "I was saying that Amma and Appa are coming tomorrow. Amma is excited to watch our performance. You know she has been asking about these two a lot - especially Sansie , because finally someone who dances Bharatanatyam!"

I felt my ears burn. Why does Amma keep bringing up Sanskriti? But I didn't mind. If anything, it made me feel oddly... happy?

"No rude comback on Sana, Hulk?" Dhruv asked.

Sanskriti chuckled. "Let him be, Buffalo. Maybe Mr. Rude is just tired of being rude."

I smirked. "Don't get used to it, shortcake."

Her blush deepened. Interesting.

....

Today is Freshers' Day. A small part of me felt disappointed because I wouldn't get to see Sanskriti in the library as often anymore. But another part of me was relieved—I wouldn't have to come up with excuses to hang out with her.

It was six in the morning when I sent her a good morning message. I knew she wouldn't be up yet, but I still refreshed the chat multiple times, hoping for a reply.

She finally responded and posted a story.

Her eyes.

I stared at the picture longer than I should have. Her bindi drew my attention, accentuating the depth in her gaze. Before I could stop myself, I replied with :

"Shortie"

But deep down.. my heart was wanting to reply with

"In twilight's glow, where shadows play

Your eyes, two stars, light up the grey.

Deep pools of mystery, whispers untold,

In their depths, a universe unfolds."
