Ghost
"Ghosts are the whispers of those who we love, never truly gone."
Isabella's POV
The day. It's THE day! The one I've been waiting for since Lucas proposed to me two months ago. I gazed at the full-length mirror of the dressing room, along with my best friend and maid of honor, Sophia.
"You look amazing, Bella!" Sophia squealed with excitement, her blue eyes shining brightly. "Only a few minutes more and you'll be at the altar, being the perfect bride." I smiled at her as I adjusted the smooth fabric of my wedding dress. My other friends, Iris and Alina joined me and Sophia in front of the mirror, their lilac bridesmaid dresses softly flowing like flower petals.
"I can't wait for the wedding to begin!" Alina squealed and Iris said, "Stop being so childish, Lina." Yet even as she said so ever so sternly, she couldn't help but smile. Iris was always the big sister of the group.
A few minutes later, my friends left to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. I once more gazed at the mirror in front of me. "I wish you were here, Mom..." I whispered. "You wanted nothing more to see me on the altar... And now I will be... I just wish you were here..."
"I am with you." A voice behind me said. I turned around to see my mom silently crying at seeing her own Bella growing up. "Mom? Is that you?" I whispered, not believing my eyes. "Yes, love, it is." My mom smiled.
I couldn't believe my eyes that she was here, with me, on my special day... As if sensing my disbelief, she said, "We may be worlds apart, but remember what I told you, I will always be with you."
We talked for a few more minutes or so until Iris came in and told me it was almost time. I told her to wait a bit and looked around for my mom.
"Don't worry." My mom reassured me. "I'll always be with you. I am a part of you, invisible to anyone else." I smiled and we talked for much more, discussing about the wedding, losing track of time.
Iris suddenly reappeared, hands on her hips. "How long will I have to wait for the bride?" She said. I laughed and followed her out with my mom floating behind me.
We arrived at the wedding venue and I saw Lucas in a crisp white tuxedo waiting for me at the altar. He smiled to me and I smiled back at him. I looked at my mom and she looked at me with a smile, barely controlling herself. Good thing it was only I who can hear her.
I walked towards the altar, towards Lucas, towards another chapter of my life, with my mom always and forever by my side.
