Grace's POV

I've never felt so lost. Usually I had her with me. I know she's probably still upset at me, and I know I was in the wrong. But it felt as if I lost a part of myself.

Have you ever shared a secret before? Maybe. I know I have, but who knew that her secret that I shared would've been the one to end our friendship?

It's hard for me to be a secret-keeper.

I stared at my phone for a while. That was news!

I quickly sent a screenshot of our conversation to a group chat of when we were in 7th grade. I tagged Mimi and she immediately screamed at me through private chat.

Now Eli will kill me! Wth were you thinking?!?!?!?! I hate you Grace! I specifically told you not to tell anyone!!!!

I read her message and saw that she was mad. Like really mad. Luckily, no one saw the photo yet. As I went to delete it, Mimi removed me from the group chat, meaning I couldn't delete the screenshot anymore.

I went to chat her again but found that she blocked me. I stared at my screen for a while, not daring to believe what I saw. We never argued. When I said never, I meant NEVER. Literally. But I knew that I deserved this. More than 2 years of friendship. Gone.

Two weeks later, as I watched the sunset near my house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. I couldn't help it. My friendship with Mimi was never repaired. And, to be honest, I don't think it ever will be. I'm fine with that. I deserved that. I don't know what i was thinking...

If I hadn't sent that screenshot, would things have turned out differently? To be honest, I don't think so. Every day, it feels like a daily obligation to even say 'Hi' to her. Nothing would've changed much I think.

You know what they say, good things always come to an end. Honestly, if Mimi's happy, then I'm happy. Reading our old conversations made me grateful for the time we had together. We may not be friends now, but Mimi will always have a special chapter in my story.

I smiled to myself.
