POV: Phillip Thornberry
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of abuse
I decided to drag Trav out to trick or treating because he's never been. Today is the last Halloween before Travis turns 15, and his "dad" says 15 year olds are too old for trick or treating anyway, so he shouldn't waste time being upset about trick or treating. I hate his dad so much. He's just a lousy prick. I have a suspicion that Trav's dad hits him, but he refuses to talk about it.
Travis is in a ghost outfit, and he has a pumpkin trick or treating basket. He looks as happy as can be, even though I can't see his face due to the cloth. I can see his eyes, though. They are a bit squinted, so I assume he's smiling. "You havin fun?" I ask.
Travis turns his head, laughs a bit and nods. "Uh-huh!" He says as he turns his head back. "I'm glad to hear!" I say with a slight laugh. "You got a lot of candy, man! Wanna head back to my place?" I ask.
Travis turns his head to look at me, his strikingly green eyes meeting my brown ones. "Sure!" He says as he stops walking. I smile and stop walking as well. We turn around and start speed-walking down the street. Eventually, we decide to race back.
"I'm gonna win!" Travis says as he giggles. I like his laugh. "Nuh uh! I'll whoop your ass!!" I say back. Travis continues his laughing. "Threeeee....Twwooooooo.. ONE!!" I yell as I start to run. Travis giggles and runs behind me, slowly starting to pass me. "Bullshit! You're cheating!" I yell.
"No I'm not!!" He yells back, starting to giggle more. I smile widely and try to catch up, just barely passing him. He eventually stops running as he pants. I turn around and look at him as I giggle. "Hahaaa!! You lost!" I say. "Nuh uhh!" He says. I laugh again and walk over to him.
"Uuughhh.." he groans. I roll my eyes playfully as I grab his arm, walking towards my house again. "Let's watch a movie when we get back. We can eat candy and stuff." I say as I see my house in the distance.
"Father says I can't watch anything scary, though." Travis reminds. "He won't knowwww" I whine as we make it to the front lawn. "You sure.??" he says. "100 percent." I respond as we get to the door. I grab out the front door key from my pocket and fiddle with the keys, before finally unlocking it.
I push the door open and walk in. Trav follows behind me. I let go of his arm and close the door, locking it back. "You can go sit down on the couch. I'll go grab some drinks n stuff." I say with a smile.
Travis pulls the white sheet off of himself, his hair frizzing up immediately. "I can help if you want.." He says. "Nah, It's alright!" I say. Travis mumbles an "okay." as he removes his shoes and wobbles over to the couch to sit down. He sets the candy down on the coffee table. I smile and walk to the kitchen, grabbing a few random chips and drinks.
I walk to the living room and set the snacks down on the table that has Travs candy, grabbing the remote and leaning back. "Watcha wanna watch?" I ask. "Uhmm.. You choose.." He says. I raise an eyebrow and turn on the tv, searching through the channels. I eventually find a scary-ish romance movie. "Hm.." I hum as I set the remote back down, leaning into the couch again.
Travis grabs his candies and starts to eat them. He doesn't get to eat much of it, due to his fathers weird ass rules. I turn my head and smile at him before I look back at the tv. "Are they good?" I ask. "Mhm!" Travis hums in response.
~
The movie has been rolling for a while now. Travis ate a bunch of candy and ended up falling asleep on my shoulder. I held him close to myself as I watched the boring movie. It sucks so bad, but if I moved, I would wake Travis.
I sigh and rest my head on my hand as I tap my cheek with my fingers. Even though I'm bored out of my mind, I kind of enjoy having Trav so close. I can't help but feel tingles when he's near. He's also rather pretty. He recently got braces. They have purple bands. I think they suit him rather well.
