Part of Amy would miss the Freedom Fighters. The years that she'd spent fighting alongside her friends, saving the world, and then doing it all over again were more meaningful than she could express. But, looking inward, she knew this was something...

From the 4th floor of Central Command, the Doberman and the hedgehog had a clear line of sight to the compound's inner grounds. They stood at the window, wearing similar expressions of mild curiosity. Below them, unaware of their presence, was Amy and Xavier. It quickly became apparent that they weren't stepping out for additional training. Though Dimitri and Shadow would both agree that the bird could definitely use some.
The argument the two cadets were locked in was clearly something they were both passionate about, but at this distance the context was lost. In all honesty, Dimitri didn't appear to care; however, Shadow seems slightly more intrigued. What would cause the mild Amy Rose to get so heated? "They seem like they're getting along well." Shadow's sarcasm wasn't lost on the Drill Sergeant.
Xavier didn't appear like he was holding anything back. He'd removed his shoes to let his talons try to slash at her. Pecking and slashing with every amount of speed he had, consequences be damned. Amy, on the other hand, was the embodiment of silent rage. Her movements looked fluid and graceful while dodging her opponent, but when an opening showed itself, she pushed all her might into the wildness of her punches.
Dimitri scoffed before replying, "He deserves it anyways. He's been a little shit all week." He crossed his arms as he spoke, focus never straying from the window. "Still, I should stop them."
"Don't bother. Cadet Xavier doesn't seem like he has the skills to actually inflict any serious injuries. And Amy hasn't even started fighting him seriously yet. She's still holding herself back." Shadow tilted his head to one side slightly, keeping an eye out for any signs of her summoning her hammer.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say he was playing a joke on us. I didn't think anyone could be so bad at fighting." Dimitri grumbled, taking his superior's relaxed demeanor as a good sign as Amy knocked Xavier to the grassy turf with a barbaric slug. "That right haymaker is starting to become a signature of hers." Dimitri exhaled a tsk of half appreciation, half disapproval.
"Just wait until she really needs to fight. Cadet Rose has her own tricks beyond simple punches." Shadow couldn't help a small smirk that pulled at the corner of his lips. This was certainly going to be more interesting than he'd thought. "They'll come to their conclusion soon. But you do have your work cut out for you, I've met 10 year olds who fight better than that bird. So in my eyes this is simply... extra practice for him." Shadow rolled his shoulders before letting his arms fall to his sides. The movement was just enough to unbunch the leather of his G.U.N issued jacket as it shifted against his back quills. He let his eyes linger on the cadets for a few moments longer, focus narrowing at Amy as she knelt down to offer Xavier a hand.
Every year, Shadow reviewed the intake forms of the cadets. When he saw Amy's name and photo ID, he wasn't quite sure what to think. She'd never made any mention to him about joining G.U.N; then again, having her enlisted wouldn't be a hindrance, he knew. Still, seeing her standing amongst the others within the training pavilion, was nothing less than jarring. The blue and tan of her uniform was such a stark contrast from the red he was accustomed to seeing her in. He'd admit, it was almost disappointing to see how washed-out the uniforms made the green of her eyes appear.
